Has Dyson signed anywhere. I can't for the life of me figure out why we haven't brought him in if he hasn't. He's a very good young CB, probably better than Macklin was at the same stage of their careers. Bring in Dyson, resign Hill, and trade for Henry, then you can definately go BPA in the draft.

Dyson was a four-year starter who hauled in 16 interceptions. The Titans didn't count him as a core player worthy of a new contract and allowed him to hit the market when he completed four years of service and became eligible for unrestricted free agency March 2.

And you still want to bring him here

There are both three RBs and three CBs at the top and all are options at #8, but you can also get extremely good value in the 2nd and 3rd in this draft at both positions, so you kinda answered your own question.

If we strickly drafted BAP in this draft we would most likely end up with 3 DBs and 1 RB on day 1.

sure 4 years 16 INT's not bad.

And how many Titan games did you completely follow the last 4 years

I bet you might've missed the games where he was caught gambling for Int's and was burnt and led to td's. I bet you also missed his lack of tackling abilities often needing safety help to bring a man down.

I'm glad these threads stay in the archives for a long time. Cause if he winds up here, I'm gonna bump them and tell ya I told ya so :D

I'd like to bring him in. Not because I think he's a great or anything, but he's better than nothing (literally).

You can get some great info about a guy listening to what fans of the Titans have been saying after watching the guy every single week the last 4 years :(
I didn't read everything, but opinion seems to be at least somewhat split on the guy. Someone even suggested that he'll make a pro-bowl with another team.

Still he's better than the guy we have opposite macklin right now. you know, that guy....his name is....uh, who IS playing opposite Macklin? oh, right. Nobody.

Well some of those posts were Chiefs fans. And I missed the Pro Bowl post, I must go back and look and laugh.

Here are some good quotes:

I think hes good enough to play #1 for few teams but could play #2 for almost any team if you know what i mean. He has the physical tools but he still tends to blow routes way too often and his mental part of the game just isnt there yet which leads me to the idea that he is just a late bloomer. He certaintly isnt better then samari but that doesnt mean he couldnt start for the titans.

I agree, he does tend to gamble a bit too much. He is a decent corner, but not your shut down type of guy. He is better suited for a defense where he would not need to be the #1 guy covering. Take some pressure off him and he's OK. He has been exposed alot last year due to the lack of depth (injuries) to the Titans defense.

We're a pretty desperate team, but not desperate enough to pay the money that he thinks he deserves. After every year I can remember 5 outstanding plays by him, but also about 50 boneheaded ones. Until that differential is evened up, he won't be considered a #1 corner.

And this was my post:

To my knowledge, Dyson has not garnered any attention at all except in Seattle, and they are desperate on just about their entire defense! AZ needs a corner desperately, but I have heard nothing about even bringing him in for a visit. Dyson was always complemented well by Rolle, but Rolle mostly coverered the #1 receiver. Dyson may make an adequate #2 corner, but against teams that have 2 great WR's, he could get burned! So have a great FS in place just in case

And the next poster who replied off my post:

Now. Any questions

I dont trust one bit the opinions of players former teams fans. There are always the fans that downgrade a players skills to try and rationalize why he isnt on the team anymore.

Every fan does it including us.

And that is exactly why I am heavily in favor for drafting Pac-Man at #8 if the Titans pass him up for Mike Williams or whomever....

Yep it had nothing to do with the fact that they were in cap hell and couldnt re-sign anyone no matter who it was and had to cut half their team as well.

True. But I just wish that stats existed that showed getting burnt, that showed his gambling for Int's (which sometimes led to those 16) but more often led to getting burnt for TD's. I wish also that there was a missed tackle stat vs. tackles stat :(

6 cuts is hardly half the team. And they didn't resign him cause he wasn't worth it. If he had proved his worth, others could've been cut so he could stay. But as it stands, he had 4 years to prove his worth and he never did. I wonder if Josh McCown after 4 years here has the same type rep as Dyson does with the Titans. Will y'all be wanting to re-sign McCown too  :D

And what I mean by that is "Josh did throw 15 picks this year, but he did get us 10 TD's...YEAH!!!" is the same almost as saying "Dyson did give up countless TD's from gambling and getting burnt, but he did get us 16 picks....YEAH!!" I wish I could see that stat :hulk:

But when all 6 of them are starters it makes a huge impact. Which also mean NO, others couldnt have been cut becuase they already cut 6 starters, they werent about to cut 2 or more starters for the sake of keeping one player.

Again they were not re-signing anyone, because they couldnt, no matter if they were worth it or not, and barely were able to make it under the cap, give out cheap tender offers to their RFA dn EFA's, and gain enough for their rookie pool as well.

After losing all of those players the only player they had the ability to sign was a freaking kicker for the league minimum.

The Titans not re-signing him is hardly an indication of his skills as he wasnt going to be re-signed there no matter what no matter how good he is, none of the Titans FA's were ever going to be re-signed there cap was/is that bad.

Every other arguement you can make about his skills and is very valid just pointing out your arguement about his skills based on the Titans not re-signing him is completely flawed and not true.

Plus I as well feel it to be very odd that no teams are looking at him, and could be an indicator taht he priced himself to high especially after teams really looked at him on tape.

I don't see what the concern is, our other starting CB didn't give up a TD all last year, no PI's, the kid was completely unblemished all year.

I agree with you, I have no idea how good Dyson is but he's GOT to be better than a non existant player which is what we have at the moment.

Ok I can live with that. The Titans know that what they had in place wasn't working. They are in a complete mode of re-building. Mac 9 is still behind the gun, and Bulluck is still the D. They are re-building around these 2.

I never said that Dyson is a horrible corner. I said that he is not your #1 corner that you want. If Macklin is the #1 corner that we want, then bring in Dyson as the #2 corner. But if you're gonna rely on Dyson to cover #1 receivers, you are setting yourself up for heavy disappointment my friend. That's why I am so heavily favored in drafting corner at #8. We have plenty of RB options throughout the first 3 rounds, and Henry is still simmering on the burner. Defense is most important in winning championships, and so is stopping touchdowns. That's why I want Pac-Man as our #1 man in Starks' old slot.
