I am contemplating getting an HTC Incredible when they come out.

I now have a Blackberry, which will be replaced accordingly.

I will use it for work - emails, doc reviews, etc as well as personal - music, etc.

I heard that there are some really good Android Apps and some real bummers.

Anyone have any recommendations either good or bad for Apps you are using or have used and got rid of?

I already have preordered the Incredible. You should look at AppBrain.com

You make a list of all the apps you want. Then, when you get your phone, you can download the AppBrain app and it will install all the apps you've listed automatically. I already have 50-60 ready to go.

If you have two droids you must check out "knocking".

And also Flywall or something "fly" is a great app for the lock screen.

Is there an app for a golf range finder similar to a SkyCaddie? Cause that would rule.

I downloaded a Suns app from NBC.com. Real-time stats during the game. Other apps claim that but are usually 10 minutes behind.

I've got the Eris and the Incredible will come packed with a bunch of apps already. You will likely not be able to easily uninstall the default apps.
As others have listed, there are TONS of apps out there; most free.

The #1 app, IMO, is the Advanced Task Killer.. Just like a computer, if you have too many apps running it'll slow the phone down bye eating up ram and cpu.

Currently my record is 20 apps downloading one by one, 4 phone calls back to back.... And 5 web pages loading.

Still haven't caused a force close message.

INCREDIBLE!

How can you get rid of some of the preinstalled apps, if possible? Do you know?

You'll need to "root" or hack the OS.. Do a search for something like "rooting Android" and you should find info. But beware, it'll likely void any warranty.

Honestly if the Incredible apps are the same as the Eris, most are useful. The only one I'd like to uninstall is the damn Amazon MP3 app..

There's a free MP3 app that you can find and DL songs for free - MP3 Download. Basically a giant search engine.

Actually they didn't include the Amazon MP3 app with the Incredible for whatever reason.

I like the Food Finder app. It's amazing how many different types of restaurants there are here.

When I direct dial from Urban Spoon on my Droid Incredible, it automatically dials internationally - by adding 011 in front of the number even though I have assisted dialing turned off.

This happens as well when I direct dial from my contact list if there is a space in the number, like an extension or something.

Anyone know a fix?

PDAnet USB Tether. It's AWESOME. Connect to your computer through USB and use your 3G network as your Internet connection. For free! (I have an unlimited data plan, so this means I can get internet pretty much anywhere.)
