Former LSU women's basketball star Aneesah Morrow was drafted No. 7 overall by the Connecticut Sun in the 2025 WNBA Draft on Monday night.
The forward emerged as one of the class' top prospects during a record-shattering senior season. She led the nation in rebounds and with 30 double-doubles as the Tigers made a run to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament.
Looking to replace all five starters from a semifinal team last season, the Connecticut Sun drafted Morrow and NC State's Saniya Rivers with back-to-back picks.
Morrow averaged 18.7 points and 13.5 rebounds per contest during the 2024-25 season. In her second season with LSU, she stood out among some of the country's best and tallest forwards in the SEC.
Averaging a double-double in her first two collegiate seasons at DePaul, the Chicago native joined head coach Kim Mulkey's program in Baton Rouge following its national championship year.
By ending her four-year career with 2,852 points and 1,714 rebounds, Morrow is one of eight players in Division I history with over 2,500/1,500 in a career and one of two players with over 100 career double-doubles. Coupled with her grit on the defensive end, she'll bring a well-rounded skillset to the professional level.
