The Jamison group is by FAR the best option that has come forward for the Coyotes.. With so much going on this potential announcement this afternoon is the cherry on top..

I have said this for a while, but Jamison knows how to build a brand and a team. Many people do not remember , but when he took over the Sharks they were losing between 15-18 million a year. After just a few short years they were profitable and today are one of the more respected NHL franchises in the league..

I TRULY believe he can do the same thing for the Coyotes, in a day where Sarver has run the Suns into the ground, and the Dbacks have started out the season mediocre the Coyotes are primed to step up into the Valley spot light..

I have always gone to a handful of games each year, I will fully admit I was hesitant to jump fully in until the ownership was resolved and we knew they were staying, but with this announcement I have purchased season tickets next year and will have them going forward..

Hop on, plenty of room! :)

Yes, Jamison's group is the best and most publicized, but GWI is already gearing up.

I just hope they don't scuttle this one like the other.. Could be the last hope.

I think there have been a lot of lessons learned - but still a ton of hurdles to overcome

I think the CoG will be more of an issue than GWI at this point - there will also be the issue of the actual payment to the league, which has created problems in past sales of different teams

A variety of sales for a variety of teams have fallen through in the recent NHL history - including with the Coyotes

I hope that this one gets done and Jamison is a great executive and community builder

Would be even better if they could get the ink dry so to speak and allow the new ownership to build off this currrent momentum and spotlight

I'm starting to sway to cautiously optimistic

No way this deal will fall through.. it has too much momentum.. Mark it down, this deal will happen..

Maybe, but without fixing the underlying problem, nothing will ultimately change. Is one deep run into the playoffs enough to fill the building every night?

Say what you will about Bettman, he doesn't fly out to smoke a victory cigar unless there's a deal.

I have been at work all day and had no time to surf the net and then I got a text about the sale a few hours ago. I am stoked. Now I hope they give the Coyotes the All-Star game they took away.

Agreed, it looks like 2013 is already set to be in Columbus, but PHX/Glendale should get the 2014 game.

I really also want to see the 'Yotes host a Winter Classic* in the near future too. Its too bad the 2013 game is already set for U of Michigan Stadium, it would be cool to have the Coyotes hosting it if they were coming of a Stanley Cup Finals appearance.

*Note: They could play it at Chase Field easily. The cooling system that runs under downtown is capable of creating fake ice, they do it downtown at CityScape every year. Keep the roof closed before game time, crank the AC and then open it a few minutes before puck drops. Outdoor hockey in the desert, it would be cool.

I think the entire point of the Classic is for it to be outdoors. Hockey in 60 degree weather... I don't see this ever happening.

Well Chase Field is an open air/outdoor stadium when the roof is open.

I don't really get your "point" about 60 degree weather either. Its possible to make the ice, they could do it. The real issue wouldn't be the whether, it would be the league being willing to put a team like the Coyotes on the Winter Classic. They'd have to pair them with the Red Wings or a team like that in order for it to draw enough viewers.

Or they 'Yotes could just go ahead and win back to back Stanley Cups and then they'd be must see TV :p

Maybe I'm wrong, but my point was that the Winter Classic is intended to resemble old-time hockey on frozen ponds, etc. There is no such think as old-time hockey in Phoenix.

However, I think it is a no-brainer that the all-star game should come to Phoenix if Bettman is as desperate as he seems to grow hockey in the desert.

^Oh I agree it wouldn't have that old timey feel. But PHX is a City that rallies around big events and parties, Fiesta Bowl, Super Bowl, All Star games, Cactus League, etc. If you want to grow Hockey in this market, give us the All Star Game and a Winter Classic. That'll get a lot more eyes on the sport initially and may go a long way to inflating the fan base.

Only when hell freezes over..

But hey, that's most said about the Cards in the Superbowl and the Yotes in the WCFs

At some point the NHL will need to expand the WC past the central/east coast.
