He was on their board. May have been the 6th round pick for us if Quan wasn't still available.

He is definitely seen as development type prospect for them though.

I'm wondering who the team has penciled as the cuts to fill the roster spots.

Spach and ? I'm thinking they may IR Adams to keep him around for camp next year to compete with all these young corners.

As far as running backs go, I might be tempted to trade a low round future pick for a back up on another team. I thought that the RB pile would look better than what it is now. Not really any enticing option out there.

IR Adams? They have said he should be ready week 1???

Spach, Talley, Walker, Quan are some easy names as of right now to put on the possible cut list.

I like this signing too. Lindsey has a ton of talent. Bet the Bengals are bummed, as they hoped to slip him past waivers.

Maybe so, but they are adding cornerbacks, presumably to be on the active roster. Maybe they bring in Lindsey/Butler to get a look, but I think that it's more likely one CB on the roster will go (Adams to IR) and a player at another position (Spach).

I've never heard of this guy before today, so I don't have much of an opinion on this one. He looks promising, though. Long-term promising, at least.

I really hope we grab a pass rusher in these cuts. The depth at OLB scares me far more than the depth at CB.

When he was drafted........

Bengals selected Southern Illinois CB Korey Lindsey with the No. 207 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.
A three-year starter and two-time All-American for the Salukis, Linsdey is an underrated small-school prospect with NFL ability. He showed playmaking skills (14 career interceptions), solid technique, and a willingness to play the run in college. Even if he's not starter-caliber, the Bengals can develop him into a solid nickel or dime back. Apr 30 - 5:17 PM

Cardinals claimed CB Korey Lindsey off waivers from the Bengals.
A seventh-round pick, Lindsey was waived by Cincinnati on Saturday. The Cardinals are extremely thin at cornerback right now, so there's a chance Lindsey might be called on to play more than special teams if he's active in Week 1.

Well that explains why the Cards wanted him. Practice squad guy probably?

By claiming him, Lindsey has to be on the 53 man roster.

Didn't know that. Only thought that applied it we took a guy off another team's practice squad. Also thought I read recently on here that some of last years practice squad guys were players they picked up after final cuts. I guess the difference is in claiming a guy versus signing him after he clears waivers.

I know it's confusing, Duck. Waived players who are PS eligible can elect to sign anywhere they are offered a PS contract. Normally, those players want to stay with the team they've been with---but some don't, and some don't get the chance.

You are right about taking a player off a PS---the team has to put the player on their 53 man roster---that is, if the team the player is on doesn't promote him to their 53 man roster (which is their choice).

Here's one for you RR:

The Cards have drafted players from Illinois, Northern Illinois, and Western Illinois.

Who is the only player they ever drafted from Southern Illinois?
