The Chicago Bears are becoming a destination spot for former Notre Dame football stars, and on Monday, another one joined the NFC franchise.

While safety Nick McCloud only played one year for the Irish in 2020, he continued his football career even though he wasn’t drafted. He started with the Buffalo Bills in 2021 (two stints) and also played for the Cincinnati Bengals that season.

McCloud would then play for the New York Giants from 2022-2024, and also was on the San Francisco 49ers in 2024. He has now signed with the Bears joining long snapper Scott Daly, and tight ends Cole Kmet and Durham Smythe.

The safety has had a solid playing career, with 85 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, an interception and 1.5 sacks. Hopefully those numbers grow for McCloud with his new team.
