To be fair apparently happened before he was a Laker. Felony assault on an unnamed family member while in Texas in late Feb. facing up to 10 years if convicted.

Bad week or so for ex UA players Hill, Josiah Turner and Jesse Perry all in trouble with the law.

Apparently hit his girlfriend threw her against a wall and choked her because she threw his cellphones(plural) down during an argument.

She waited a month to call police but apparently has pics and a friend as a witness.

without knowing much about it i could bet that "thrown against the wall" is an exageration and that it probably was not as bad as it sounds.

Yeah no idea it's just coming out now she apparently waited a month before reporting it but has pictures of bruising etc and a friend backs her story.

Seems like the type of case that typically gets pled down. But she does say he choked her so if there was bruising around the neck I'd think he'd be in some trouble.

The woman had to be stupid to provoke a known headcase like that. Dude just snapped; he had no idea what he was doing, which I'm not saying is an excuse. If anything, it makes him scarier. But you have to wonder what she was thinking to put herself in that situation.

People can get bruises really easily without any choking. Just grabbing someone with authority can be enough.

I just have this typical scene in my head of a hysterical woman going crazy, throwing the cell phone to the ground and screaming, man loses his cool grabs her around the neck/throat and pusher her aside, she probably fell against the wall.
Now she realized she can make money out of it and of course her version is that she was choked and thrown against the wall.

Don't get me wrong, I am not supporting it. But I swear some of these arguments are just exagerated and some of them are simply intense arguments and not enough to go to court let alone 10 years in prison.

If a hysterical woman starts going crazy, screaming and throwing stuff on the ground, I'd suggest getting the hell out of there and letting her cool down instead of grabbing her around the neck. This is especially true if you are a 6'9 250lb professional athlete.

She says he grabbed her picked her up off the couch and threw her against the wall so I'd imagine it would take substantial bruising to support her side of it.

I have no idea but if you're dating an NBA player it doesn't take you a month to realize you can get money out of them in such an incident.

My guess is if it happened, like many battered women it took her awhile to get up the courage to go ahead and press charges.

But who knows there's very little news on it so far.

It's the annual some Laker did something news when the playoffs start.

Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. However, the timing is pretty odd given he hadn't been getting any playing time until the last two games of the season and played well in the first playoff game. All of the sudden he's getting burn and then charges get filed.

On the other hand, the dude seems to be as dumb as a bag of hammers, so it isn't unbelievable that he'd do something stupid like that.

She was a bitch, always throwing elbows so she got what's coming to her. I'm glad he clotheslined her. He's a hero.

Poor memory. I was against the Bell take-down from the beginning and have never wavered.

You aren't the only sunsfan. Most do not share your opinion.

You should try a poll, you might be surprised. I remember a couple of people that were in favor of it. We have a lot more than a couple of Suns fans here. Well, we used to have a lot more than a couple of Suns fans. I'm not in favor of violence, if I were, I'd want to see Kobe get what's coming to him. But it wouldn't have anything to do with basketball, it would involve a dark night and a guy named Bubba.

Ok, maybe only the ones who were in favor of it are vocal.

Kobe initiated the hostility by continually elbowing Raja in the face... it's true... it did happen. Kobe was not an innocent victim. Unfortunately the referees swallowed their whistle and let the situation fester until it exploded. I don't blame Raja for taking Kobe down, however, I do not agree with the way Raja handled it. If I were Raja I would have started elbowing Kobe in the face in the same manner Kobe was elbowing him and force the referees to make the call.

Kobe would not agree with you. According to him, he had what was coming to him.

Kobe Bryant says Blake Griffin should ‘smack the f— out of somebody’

"I'd smack the f--- out of somebody," Bryant told ESPNLosAngeles.com on Wednesday. "I've known him for a while and he's a really nice guy so I don't know if he'd want to do that. But I would. I would've done it early in the year."

Bryant said he endured similar physical challenges from opponents early in his career. He took his cue on how to deal with it by watching his then-teammate Shaquille O'Neal.

"At some point, you have to protect yourself," Bryant said. "I've had to do it many times in my career. I've seen Shaq do it many times, too. Some guys you just don't mess with.

"I saw Shaq crack somebody his first year. I did it my first few years. Sometimes people feel like they can take advantage of you, they hit you and this, that, and the other.

"Sometimes you have to say, 'Look, you're not going to do this to me. I'll take two games but you're not going to put my health at risk by injuring me potentially. It's not going to happen.'"
