"“To me, we’re going out there and playing like a last-place team,” Garland said after giving up three runs in seven innings in Wednesday’s game. “I don’t see any fight in them. I don’t see anyone that wants it.”

The D-Backs misplayed several balls behind Garland on Wednesday, though none were officially ruled as errors.

“When I sat down and went over the three runs they had scored, I give them maybe one,” Garland said. “We gave them the other two, flat out.”

He's right, this group of complete clowns finds a way to lose almost every night. Just a horrible year, it would be one thing if there wasn't talent, but there is plenty of talent on the team. Just glad we have Hinch at the helm, he'll really whip this team into shape.

My understanding is he's implicitly calling out Justin Upton. Funny he chooses to do this after this article is posted:

Since Reynolds' outburst, the D-backs have won nine of 14 entering Wednesday. Seven of the nine wins have been the come-from-behind variety. It looks like change has come from within.

"We're being a lot more resilient," Reynolds said. "We're having fun out there playing the game. Everybody is playing hard, and that's all you can ask."

Manager A.J. Hinch is happy with the team's resiliency, and as a result, he's seen the team rediscover its swagger.

The attitude has permeated into the clubhouse, too, in teasing each other such as after Reynolds' great defensive play, hanging out as a group and playing card games has become more common again as well.

"Everybody is having fun, everybody is picking each other up, we're playing jokes on each other and we're just having fun," Reynolds said. "When you have fun, it just makes a lot of things a lot easier."

Despite the team's 40-54 record, Reynolds and the D-backs hope they can bottle the magic they have found recently and carry it as far as they can.

"As the dust has settled over the course of what's gone on in the first three months, I think the guys are adjusting fine," Hinch said. "The reality is the type of season that we're in and the improvement we need to make are very real. I think we're ready to accept the challenge of making ourselves a better team as opposed to pouting and caving like we had been."

I hope this means he gets traded. Is Garland's ERA below 4 yet? When it is then maybe he can complain.

Agreed. Garland's something of victim, but he's not innocent. Not the guy to be doing this. I think I'd be tempted to punch the guy if I shared a locker room with him.

Whether it's his place or not, he's right. Whether it be mental errors or laziness, the bottom line is this is a team full of losers right now. I don't think Justin Upton doesn't care, but he makes stupid mistakes all the time. The entire team does.

Maybe this team needs a Buck type disciplinarian manager in to drill into these fools until they make the routine plays, well routine. AJ Hinch ain't the guy.

Someone needs to call them out. Not sure if its Garland, but at least he isn't afraid to voice his opinion.
