...but I'm thinking this one is going to be a 'code changer'...but hey, maybe (like Krep said) we can get it in a future version.

Can we get THIS part of the screen:

You must be registered for see images attach

at the bottom of the screen when you're in a thread? It's a pita to scroll back to the top all the time.

What exactly are you trying to do?

If you are deep within a thread and trying to get back to the EE forum there is a "forum jump" dropdown at the VERY bottom right of the page that will take you back to the main forum (or you can switch to jump to another forum) without having to go back to the top.

Yeah, it's a dropdown menu though. I like the top bar sooooo much better. One click...no dropdown. Navigation through breadcrumbs is infinitely better than the drop down list, IMO.

I'm with Linder on this one...

OK, maybe I am misunderstanding here. If the goal is to navigate to the top of the forum you are currently in, use the forum jump and hit the "go" key. It defaults to the current forum. One click and you are there.

If the goal is to link to the ASFN forums display top, there are a couple things you can do.

1) Go to the very bottom and click on "Arizona Sports Fans Network". This will take you to the main page, then just click forums. 2 clicks, 2 seconds. Mike would appreciate this as he is trying to drive more traffic thru the main page.

2) If you use Firefox, go to your bookmarks and drag your link to the forums to your navigation toolbar. That way you will always be one click away from the forum main page wherever you are without scrolling. I'm sure you can do this in IE but I don't use it so not sure how.

If breadcrumb navigation (e.g. Linda's example) is the only acceptable option, then, no, I don't think this is a code change show-stopper. Mike would just have to copy the breadcrumb navigation code from the top and put it in the footer template. This is template driven and isolated from code upgrades.

But, if you can find another vbulletin-based board that has breadcrumb navigation at the bottom, I would like to see what it looks like first.

Thanks!

I'll look for it. I know there was a board awhile back I posted at (jim rome's board maybe?) that had bottom breadcrumb nav and it was very fluid.

I don't want people bookmarking the forum, I want them coming in through the frontpage :D

It's gotta be pretty simple to add that navigation stuff to the bottom of a thread.

I was kidding, too. Forgot the :) after the :(.

Yeah, I replaced the forums link in my FF navbar with the main page, so I always come into the forums from the main. It really isn't a hassle and it helps the site out.

Get on that, Donald! I didn't know the name for it. "Breadcrumb?" Interesting. That would be fantastic. I honestly didn't really notice the drop down before, but it's not nearly as convenient as the breadcrumb would be.

:D Yay!

 I changed my link awhile ago, and probably come in through the main page a minimum of 15-20 times a day. But then, I have no life. :(
