Another terrible trade by Towers

Towers does it again. He trades two pitchers for an outfielder who can't hit a lick and who was most likely going to be let go by the Cubs this spring.

Tony Campana is gritty, hard-nosed, and totally inept at the plate, so of course the Diamondbacks traded two minor leaguers to get him.

At the recent Cubs Convention, Campana received bigger applause than stars like Starlin Castro, which shocked Cubs' management. The fans peppered management with questions about Campana, asking why he didn't get to play much, and a rather sizeable portion was upset when he was designated.

I was shocked when they designate him. The guy is 54/59 in swiping bases and when he played regularly batted was hitting 300. His average did not suffer until he got sent to the bench.

I love this trade if there was an actual spot for him. He and Eaton seem redundant.

He is a one-dimensional player. He will be used as a pinch runner and late inning defensive replacement. This trade makes no sense. They already have enough outfielders and have AJ Pollock waiting in the wings.

so we traded 2 16 or 17 year olds for a designated player. there's nothing here but a low level minor league trade.

I think you guys will love Campana. You are correct that with regular playing time he hits a lot better. He is really quick & a really good defensive outfielder.

I don't see what makes this so terrible.

They traded 2 pitchers that were never going to do anything for the DBacks and got a guy that can be called up when the rosters expand later in the season to be a pinch runner and defensive specialist.

Chipper Jones was at the Braves spring training facility today and was speaking about his former team. He stated that the player they will miss most will not be him, but Martin Prado! Damn Towers...

took me awhile. I'm a slow thinker but I think they'll be replaced by two of the 50 or so that are drafted between now and then.

I was heavily against the Bauer trade and iffy on the Upton trade.. However, I actually LIKE this deal.
