Mike Stoops is a horrible game day coach. At least 3 losses in 12 games belong to him.

UofA played pretty well. UA went up 3 - 0 but then got down 10-3. UA then tied it up 10-10 and looked to be getting the Momentum. Utah then drove to score a TD and make it 17 - 10. Utah then stopped UA and got a Field Goal to make it 20 - 10. UA basically did nothing in the 3rd Q. Kovlacheck then made a horrible pass in to triple coverage which picked and taken to the house to make it 27 - 10. They could have rolled over but didn't. UA scored 2 TDs in the fourth and seemed to be able to run at will. With about 3:30 left in the game they had a 4th and 5 around midfield and decided not to go for it. Well when they punted it went in to the endzone and Utah got it at the 20. Utah then basically ran the clock down to 30 seconds and it was over. It was obvious that UA should have been able to make the first down. The kids played well and never quit but Stoops again made the wrong decission.

As much as I disagreed with some of the coaching decisions, Arizona lost the game because they couldn't stop Utah on defense and their offense only decided to play for a half. Add that to the turnovers and you usually come home with a loss especially when you're on the road. The fact remains that the Cats will never be an upper tier Pac-10 team unless they get more playmakers on offense. When your WRs can't catch, your RBs have fumbling problems, and your QBs can't throw you're going to have problems in this conference.

And Stoops has nine losses on him considering that's how many games he has lost as UA's HC. I also have the feeling had Stoops gone for it on 4th and 5 and they had not gotten it then you and the rest of the ASU folks would be piling on for a bad coaching move.

In the 4th quarter it seemed like Utah was not able to stop the seeps with Mike Bell. He was getting 5 to 6 yards a carry. But I guess I wonder what his health was at that point because he did seem rather banged up.
