Frankly, not taking pain medication when it is needed and justified is not manly or brave. It's dumb and can ****** healing if it results in loss of sleep and lots of other undesirable side effects.
...and as if the pain medications don't leave their own undesirable side effects??

Bull. Owners dont honor contracts all the time. Dont see you guys in a hissy telling Bidwill to be a man and to honor the contracts he gave Laboy, Hood, and Edge?

Just Sayin.
Yes, owners do. That is why there is "dead" cap space because owners DO HAVE TO honor the contract and pay whatever was agreed as guaranteed money even when the player is long gone. Cutting players is part of the system that everyone has agreed to. That's how the system is.

No they dont. Hood had 2 YEARS left on his contract. Laboy 4 YEARS left etc.. etc.. They did not honor that contract by cutting them. The only thing the owner is on the hook for in the salary cap is the bonus money which has already been payed to the player. The player is gone and they are not getting paid anymore even though they had a contract to play for the team for X # of years.

Its precisely why the offer the Cards gave Q two seasons ago was completely BUSH league. Players only protection in this system is the guaranteed money because owners aren't required to honor contracts that THEY SIGNED. Only players are.

You say cutting players is "part of the system" well I say players using whatever leverage they have to try and get a new deal is "part of the system" They have to be able to fight back somehow with owners that arent required to "honor their contracts"

Let's not shed too many tears for Laboy. He made over $7.5 million for last season and basically contributed squat.

Boldin got a sizable signing bonus for his last contract, and now he wants another one. If his last contract was such an insult then he should have held out then, not now.

You exactly prove my point. Everyone gets on their high horse about how a player should honor his contract. X player has been paid x amount of dollars etc... etc... lets not feel bad for him yadda yadda. Yet not all players that get their contracts terminated were compensated as nicely as others.

At the same token you dont think Q an Dockett have made the Cardinals millions of dollars just by themselves through marketing and jersey sales etc?

What's the point of that question? Give Dockett and Boldin whatever they ask for because they helped the team sell some jerseys?

We all know how the NFL amd it's non-guaranteed contracts work. The only really guaranteed money is the signing bonus. That's why Boldin got a $10 million bonus his last contract, not to mention the money he got on his rookie contract.

Boldin crying poor and pouting in the media every other day is just getting old. We all know he's unhappy. Just shut up all ready.

Shane, no doubt people can see where you and your mini-me (lauraw) are coming from... The simple fact is that yes - NFL contracts are not guaranteed with the exception of the bonus.
However, the majority of fans, while realizing this is a pain in the arse system, accept it...
While you claim that the majority of players don't get highly paid bonuses, the counter to that would be - if they produce, they sure as hell do!

Q has received tens of millions in GUARANTEED bonus payouts. And if he would stop being a whinny cry-baby, he will again receive yet another hefty GUARANTEED payout!

Bottom line, the way in which he is conducting himself rubs the majority of fans the wrong way - as it should. Let me ask you this - you have a few sons, right? How would you expect your sons to treat their employer? How would yuo want them to conduct themselves in the course of "doing business"? Would you accept their juvenile, disrespectful and dishonest tactics toward an employer that has paid them huge sums of money - and has stated that they desire to pay them additional HUGE sums of money?

Dishonest???

Q honestly believes he was misled by the front office regarding the timing of a new deal. There's is little that Q could say on the issue, when pressed by the media hounds, that would satisfy some fans. Expressing his true feelings to answering "no comment" will be interpreted through the prism of a reader's particular bias, as your post clearly shows.

Yea... DISHONEST! Showing up to camp and faking an injury so he doesn't have to participate is DISHONEST.... Not fulfilling a contract YOU chose to sign and that paid you $10million in bonus money, and that still has 2 years left on it is DISHONEST...

Yes, 'dishonest'. Unless you honestly believe that Boldin and Dockett are 'hurt'. Faking injury is lying.

BTW, I love that the Cards sent those two to get MRI's on their 'injured' hamstrings. Another reason to love coach Whis.

You have no evidence as to whether he FAKED an injury.

As said... it is your view expressed through your bias, and it is intellectually dishonest to suggest that someone else is "dishonest" without the support of the objective facts.

Further... please explain as to how Q is in contravention of his contract?

LMAO...

You know what dude - when it comes to taking the word of Whiz or Q, I'm going with Whiz... If that makes Whiz "intellectually dishonest" - I'm cool with that!

;)

"Contravention"?? Where did I suggest Q was in "contravention" with his contract? I guess faking an injury might be construed as such... But no - whinning and acting like a baby does not neccessarily equate to "contravention"...

What I believe or suspect is irrelevant.

I don't have the facts to support any supposition.

Without any factual evidence to support my feelings, I do tend to agree. ;)

Not me. I've been around too long for that. Seen too many posts like yours followed up a few years later with someone else posting "Coach was an idiot and the Cardinals were right to fire him".

The owners make millions from the players and the players make millions from the owners. Either one can do whatever they think is best for them without me disparaging their character.

But apparently on ASFN if you are a player and you don't knuckle under and take whatever the team offers you are a "baby" or "d-bag" and need to get the H out of town.

To each his own Duck... I'm calling it as I see it... I never said Q needs to "knuckle under" or "take whatever" the team offers.
That sort of hyperbole is so old and out of place... Q has been treated extremely well since he's been a Cardinal. He will continue to be treated extremely well by the Cards...
His antics are juvenile, dishonest and yes, baby-ish...

Totally agree. He had his rookie contract torn up and he signed for what he is playing for now. The fake injury crap makes me wish more than ever that we could have resolved this with a trade.

Your quote: "Not fulfilling a contract" = contravening a contract.

And, yes... faking an injury could be construed as such, but, again... you have no evidence to support this contention.

Well then... I stand corrected... But then again, the fake injury stunt could be stretched into a contravening position...maybe... sorta.... I think....

Where are the supposed pulled hamstrings from? They both played in the SB w/o problems, and now they both mysteriously have hamstring problems three months after the season is over? I'd send them in also, because that's BS!

It begins. And after a SB run! :thud:

He must have tweaked it when defending himself against the gross mis-treatment he's received from the Cardinals!!!

Not training for 3 months = hamstring problem

Over training in the past 3 months = hamstring problem

According to you who have ZERO KNOWLEDGE says hes been treated well. He says he was lied to and that the Cards IE Graves have not bargained in good faith. The evidence points to Q being correct. If true your statements are way off base. Just being paid well isnt enough to say hes been treated "extremely well"
