Anthony Davis maintains that he is the best player in the NBA despite reduced minutes for the New Orleans Pelicans. Star forward Davis displayed MVP calibre form early in the 2018-19 season, but he then requested a trade in January ahead of the deadline, with a move to the Los Angeles Lakers mooted. The Pelicans did not deal the 25-year-old, however, and announced that he would continue to play for the remainder of the campaign.
