I'm nearly 400 pages in, still haven't totally made my mind up beyond it's going to be VERY hard to make this into a movie. Special effects can do lots of things but some of the stuff here is going to be tough.

My first reaction is Crichton must have been home sick one weekend, watched "the Day After Tomorrow" and gotten so pissed he decided to write a rebuttal.

I'm not much of a believer in the whole global warming rapid climate change stuff to begin with, so knowing that Crichton was a non believer I thought I knew what to expect, but he seems to be going WAY over the top the other way to try and discredit the folks pushing GW down our throats.

Interesting so far but it's kind of like Fahrenheit 911 in that he distorts or leaves out so many things that you find yourself wondering what's worse?

I had tried to read the DaVinci Code but just couldn't get into it, people tell me it's a great book so I'll give it another try eventually.

I've given up reading Crichton. He does have some interesting reads, but he can't write an ending to save his life. Nothing ever gets resolved.

The one exception may be "Disclosure", that was a great book.
