After turning on my computer today, every Jpeg in on our computer is now a paint shop photo file and when we transfer photos from our digital camera it automatically becomes a psp file.

When I go into paint shop and save as a jpg it still stays a psp file!!

Has anyone heard of a virus that has done this? I have run virus scans and it shows nothing.

So Cal
what happens if you change the file association for the .jpg and .jpeg extensions?

Was anything recently installed?

Also, in your file options do you have a check mark next to "hide known file types" this will keep you from seeing that a file is a psp or a jpg if they are associated to the same program, the icon will look the same...

Somehow PSP got set as your default program for viewing pictures.

To fix this, right click on any picture file and select properties. From there a dialog box says open with: and there is a change button. You can change from PSP to anything else, but the default windows picture viewer is windows picture and fax.

You should aslo be able to open PSP and select what tile extensions open automatically in PSP. Just deselect all the extensions except the PSP file extension.
