Anybody want to sue the spurs, Bowen, stack house, Horry, the NBA and all of San Antonio?

For basketball purposes I'm bummed that kawhi was lost, but it's about time pops and spurs fans were on the receiving end of the bs.

I would love for ONE reporter to throw horry's bs hip check or Bowen's sliding under players or ginobilis dangerous flops in his face.

Reporters NOT throwing that back at him is pathetic. It's such an obvious question.

I get that people worship at the altar of Pop... I've even been guilty of it lately, but if he's gonna bitch about this, it's super weak that no one brings up his team's past behavior.

Yeah, it wasn't even an accidental smashing of Nash into the scorer's table.

I began to grudgingly respect pop and the Spurs a few years ago but that press conference he gave was ridiculous. Bowen's whole career was based off of sticking his feet under the place where shooters were going to land after talking a jump shot and kneeing guys in the junk when pivoting. Ginobili also plays recklessly with his and his opponrnts bodies.

One of the bay area reporters said on air yesterday that he tried to ask Pop why he was attacking Zaza and yet refused to acknowledge his own players were doing the same thing to Curry and Durant.

That's why during game 2 they talked about it on air and Jackson and Van Gundy said well there's a difference between a closeout where you end up right at the shooter and a "2 step closeout" like Zaza did. one is risky one is dirty.

This reporter said he tried to ask Pop about it again after game 2 because Aldridge had hit 3 different Warrior players in the face, and Pop again refused to even acknowledge the question let alone answer it.

I like Pop, he's a great coach, but he clearly gets that he's been a hypocrite here that sort of stuff is ok when his guys are doing it but now it's bad for the game.

It sucks because that injury has so far ruined the series and now you get into if the Warriors win game 3 do they have to worry about Aldridge and company going full blown revenge mode after that and trying to take out a Warrior player.

If I was Zaza or connected to Zaza I might file a suit against Pop for agitating against a player, possibly resulting in an unsafe work place (the arena specifically but the entire state of Texas too). I'd probably file one against the NBA also for allowing Pop to create this kind of problem in the first place. What he did goes beyond gamesmanship IMO. One way or the other I do expect the league to have a say in this.

Zaza is a dirty player, always has been. But almost every team has at least one player his equal or worse when it comes to dirty.

I hate to bring race into this and I'm not suggesting it's racism in any way but race and nationality, IMO, have a lot to do with why so many have taken a shot at Zaza. There would be some slight protection for him (from the sports analysts at least) if he were black, or if he were at least American or even if he were from one of the more "accepted" European nations but as it is, he's a fair target.

Steven, I was thinking along a similar line but I did not have the cojones to post it. :thud:

That's funny, I had just hurried back here to delete it for the very same reason but didn't since you had already "liked" it. I really don't want to start a race related conversation.

I just watched a few YouTube clips of dirty Bruce Bowen plays. Popovich can suck an egg. Bowen was a punk and caused a ton of injuries with his dirty play.

I don't see the race and nationality thing here. Bowen was skewered for it years ago.

I respect the guy as a coach. I think he is great. I love that he speaks his mind as well. However, one of the pieces of baggage you get with the guy is I think he is loyal to a fault when it comes to the team and his players.

His team has been associated with some of the dirtiest play in the NBA during his tenure. I have no clue if this is something "taught" to his players or if there is a specific type of player he targets for his teams. Either way...dude has ZERO room to talk on this subject.

wha? No. Bowen used to regularly get skewered for the same type of crap. Kobe got suspensions for his elbows and flailing arms, so did Karl Malone. That's a serious stretch, IMO.

Sorry but I disagree. No way did Bowen ever receive the kind of media attention that's come Zaza's way. Even after Bowen did it to most of the top named wings there were still a lot of people ignoring it or insisting that he was just playing hard. And don't make it out like I'm saying being black is a get out of jail free card, I'm talking about a matter of degrees.

I think this is magnified for theee reasons:

It's a conference finals

It's the spurs best player, and an MVP candidate that went down

Pop, the media darling, is foaming at the mouth

That's it. Not race. Not nationality.

Maybe you're right but I've never seen it where, to a man, the talking heads all come down on him. I've seen former players and former coaches stick up for Bruce Bowen time and again but nothing but silence with Zaza.

A) I totally disagree

B) We live in MUCH different media age than when Bowen played with EVERYTHING gets blown out of proportion.

C) And probably most important, Draymond gets A TON of crap for his dirty style and has even been suspended in the Finals for his actions. No one says Draymond's just "playing hard".

D) Pachulia has gotten a well deserved rep as a limited offensive player and dirty defensive player. And it's not new. He was pulling dirty crap for the Hawks back in 2007 against the Celtics and that's all continued through this season when he got a ton of crap for his flagrant against Westbrook.

E) I also think you see this with Zaza because he literally brings next to nothing to the table other than dirty play. Bowen was a first team all-defensive player and made big shots throughout his career from the corner. Zaza has literally done NOTHING but trying to start a fight with KG, making. Ruckus with Westbrook and now, taking out Leonard.

There's a pattern there of a complete scrub trying to take out the opposing teams best player and that's prob the biggest reason why everyone's coming down on him.

And the 4th reason he went down earlier in the game adn even though he got hurt landing on a teammate, the Spurs were accusing the Warriors of dirty play on that one too.

Brown said he asked the refs after 2 of the SA ones that went uncalled in game 1 and both times the ref told him the difference is Steph/Durant didn't land on the guys foot. Yes they extended their foot but since he didn't land on it, it's not a foul, let alone a flagrant foul. Browns' point was you're supposed to consider intent with flagrant fouls, you can get a Flagrant for swinging an elbow, even if you don't make contact.

In game 2 Aldridge on that one play was almost trying to hit Durant in the face with a bluff, and then moved his foot twice to make sure he got it under Durant. KD still avoided it but the shot was a brick entirely because he was worried about Aldridge. That should have been a flagrant, again no contact but the intent was obvious.

They were discussing that on ESPN yesterday and the guys said the same thing, Aldridge didn't do an exaggerated closeout and I started laughing, he acted like he was doing the hokey pokey, left foot in, left foot out, left foot and shake it all about.

That's my fear if the Warriors take game 3, the Spurs are going to be hell bent on vengeance and more guys will do what Aldridge did over and over in game 2 and someone's going to get hurt or ejected for retaliating.

I'm sure the Warriors were aware Kawhi was hurt, I don't think they tried to take him out.
