Read this morning over at SI......Don Banks in his column "Inside the NFL" alludes to a rift between Graves and Green that will come to a head this year?

First I've heard about it.

I can care less. As long as they keep drafting and bringing in FA's like they have done in the past.

I think whoever is doing the speculating does not understand the Cards front office very well. The 2 guys with the real authority are Green and Mike Bidwill. Graves' job since Green has come on is to get the contracts. If Graves gets the authority to pick personnel for the offense (which is implied as the potential problem) it will be because Mike Bidwill said so. And Green will never have a chance in any sort of power struggle with Mike Bidwill.

I agree!

This is Organization has two strong-willed leaders in Green and Graves, I am sure they don't agree on everything; Kendal and Shelton for example, I don't think Graves was thrilled with Denny's seeming disregard of those bonus dollars being lost. But this organization has a "Boss", and both of them report to him. Mike brought Green in to do a job and Graves is not blind to that, but Mike is the "Boss", and Green sees pretty good, too.

They just had Cardinals 2004 Team highlights on NFL network and they replayed the post game locker room after thr Dolphins game when Denny gave the game ball to Rod Graves. And then they embraced unlike men who don't like each other just don't do. You could really see the happiness in Graves eyes......

Seeing that again made me realize how asinine this report is. and irresponsible.....

I watched that too. Graves had tears in his eyes. If that report had a shred of truth in it Bickley and Jurecki et al would be all over it like a hobo on a baloney sandwich.

The other thing I came away from that show with was that we had a pretty decent team last year, and that was with players like McCown, Shaun King, Emmitt, Troy Hambrick, Levar Woods, Renaldo Hill etc. IMO we have significantly upgraded our roster over last season.

Bring on the Jints! :koolaid:

I don't buy it...

Green has on numerous occations praised Graves and MB for their long-term strategy of building through the draft with smart cap management in free agency. Green is a straight-shooter and I'm convinced that he was being 100% honest when saying that.

That is exactly what I was going to say. The report is absolute total crap.

Show me a coach and a GM who always see eye to eye, and I'll tell you it's a guy playing both roles!! :)

No coach and GM ever agree on everything. Obviously, Graves re-signed a lot of guys during the 2003 season who Denny has decided to get rid of. Both men know each is doing the best they can for this organization.

I find this somewhat suspect...??? The way Graves was pleased by the way Green helped to move the Cards from Flagstaff to Prescott.

The national media is going to have a hard time if the Cards really turn this thing around this year and in the future. Remember how hard the national media had with the Sns in 1992-93 with the Suns, and 2001 with the Diamondbacks. When we won the World Series from the Beloved Yankees, no-one could ever comprehend that here in Arizona we do have good professional teams now and then.

:biglaugh: Two points for Renz!

The impression I have of Rod Graves over the last couple of years is that he's anything but ignorant. While he may have been involved in previous drafts that didn't amount to much and contract extensions of players Denny has sent packing, he knows the moves being made the last two years have been good for the organization and I can't believe he is going to do anything to distance himself from being a part of that "good".

We have games coming up, and usually winning will cure most, if not all, rifts in an organization. So let's kick the Giants butts, and go from there.

And on LSU's last touchdown he only had a 3 man line. On ESPN the showed several last minute td's that the defense only rushed 3 people. We saw enough of that from the Cardinals.

It is a formation that will almost gurantee that you will lose. I hope the Cardinals never use it again.
