You can code in "notepad" and just save your file with the extension of ".js" and it will now be a java script. Forexample Racoon.js instead of Racoon.txt

If you want to do J++ or something of that nature you need a java compiler.

If you are looking to program in Java you might want to download a Java Development Kit.

Here's the readme, you can check it out and see if this applies to you. There are actually 3 different JDK's available from Sun for free so you might want to take a further look. I think this is the most recent one. (5.0)

Java downloads page at Sun Micrsosystems website:

I took a Java programming class at U of A - aren't you starting there this fall? Are you majoring in MIS / CS?

Too funny. MCB was my first major when I went to U of A. I was going to be brilliant and cure cancer and whatnot.

Started out pretty well, aced the lectures. But then I got introduced to lab.

I must have set a record for most broken beakers and test tubes - over $100 in fees for the semester and I got the lowest score in the class. None of my experiments ever worked.

So I became a finance major :)

Just curious about the computer science, did you ever consider computer engineering? Wiring logic gates and the really low level stuff is fun. Well, not as much fun as going to a Cards game, but more fun than having your wisdom teeth pulled.
