A person with familiar with the decision says UAB has fired basketball coach Mike Davis after six seasons. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because no announcement has been made. UAB scheduled a news conference Friday afternoon "regarding the men's basketball program." The Birmingham News first reported the firing.
