Bulger averaged exactly an inning per outing with the Sidewinders, tossing 56 innings in as many games. With the Diamondbacks, though, the 26-year-old righty will be expected to be an inning-eater that can throw multiple innings at a time.
Jeez! Does anyone else see something just a little wacked about this?

Hey, let's take a rookie and put him in a completely unfamiliar role!

Melvin should be horsewhipped.

You have my vote . . . as I've posted before, too.

I can't understand why any Manager would use a Major League debut to put a player into a new role.

Bulger was a starter before TJ surgery, so he has pitched multiple innings. I don't think he has pitched multiple relief innings much. Either way, Melvin should be horsewhipped for this and many other things.

The reason he went to the pen was because of his control problems and that he was too hittable if used for multiple innings. Not to mention that it was the quickest way to get him to the majors.

I agree that Melvin needs to be whipped for this. Why don't we use Green as our left handed specialist while we are at it? A closer in the minors is going to be used in long relief? He should be fired right now for improper use of players.

On a side note, nm132 are you this guy from the espn message boards? If you are I don't have an account there but the threads on minor league stats keep me checking it everyday.

That's me. Now that the summer is over and I'm back in school I don't have time to type everything up.

You can read something similar at: http://dbacksminors.mostvaluablenetwork.com/

The guy that runs that blog types full summaries and writes a few good articles. The reason I did the same thing on the ESPN board is that he focuses on all players and in particular those that have good games. Personally, I could care less about Chris Michalak or Mark Freed, but I am interested in what Sergio Santos did even if he goes 0/4.

Well thanks for doing those stats while you could, and thank you very much for the website.
