According to this report, he is ready to attend OU and start practice...

http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsext...ctid=92&articleid=20110804_92_B1_Hsbgra998351

When the Dbacks drafted him with the 7th pick, it was RISKY becaue this is an unprotected pick, and we decided to pick arguably the one player on the top ten that would be the HARDEST to sign...

I just don't understand why we took this big of a risk, if we don't sign him, we are SOL, no comp pick, NOTHING...

Kevin Towers said he picked him because he liked the 2 sport athlete, but knowing it was an unprotected pick, unless you KNOW your going to sign him no matter what, why take such a huge risk?

I really hope this is just a ploy to get more money, but I have this sickening feeling that we just may lose our #7 pick...

Doesn't sound like a guy that is all that serious to wait until 2 weeks before the deadline to get everything set up for school. If anything this is evidence that his mindset is that he will not be going to school. The only thing that says otherwise is that his bags are packed, big deal, wouldn't he have to pack them either way, lol.

Hall seemed pretty confident this morning that he'll be signed - soon. He also mentioned that this is a pick where we would not see Bradley in the bigs for at least 3 years or so...

Of course he's ready to start OU practice. His agent wouldn't have any leverage if he didn't show up.

Can he technically have an agent and still play college football or does he have just an adviser?

He can have a baseball agent and still play football though the D-Backs won't allow him to play football. They will give him a little extra and since he is a two sport athlete we can spread his bonus out over 5 years instead of the normal 4. He will sign a baseball only contract late Monday night.

I sure hope that you are right. I would hate to lose him.

He signed last night!
I saw that on the wire early this morning. As I said on another post that is really great news. They had a fantastic draft and have a tremendous group of young arms in the minors. We just need to get out to the ballpark and support Gibby ball!!!
