probably.

I think the Rams got in with an 8-8 record on year. They might have been worse.

Yep, according to Chris Collinsworth. Right now, can't say I disagree.

I guess its a foregone conclusion that we'll lose to the Seachickens next week??

I dont think so. Whis has already gone on record as saying that there will be no resting of starters next week. I tend to agree because of the atrocious display of football they have displayed over the past 5 weeks or so. Seems like they have already been resting for the playoffs.

The Seahawks are bad enough that we will beat them and end up 9-7, thus NOT making us the worst playoff team in NFL history.

I think the '98 Cards might have been worse. By this time of year we had so many DL injuries that our defense was a shadow of its earlier self in '98. We ran the ball better though.

What BS.

I am sorry this is BS.

We are in the playoffs. We will take it from the there. We have not even played one playoff game yet, and now are the worst EVER?!?!?

Hornswaggle. I am not even getting into a debate cause there is nothing to debate.

If we get blown out (which may very well happen) OK, then throw us in the rankings, but this is ridiculous. The Cardinals are certainly not the first to make the playoffs with a 8-8 or 9-7 record. We are not the first team to "back into the playoffs". But to start labeling ourselves as the worse ever is ridiculous.

I may have not remember the game as well as I shouldbut I cannot remember injuries on the D outside of Eric Swann and thought we were healthy agains Dallas.

I guess I have drank to much Kool-aid and did not think we would play as badly as we have this week. If Q Fitz and we use Edge against either Atlanta or Dallas at home I think we have a good chance. The D has to have a wakeup call though.

Collingsworth is douch bag.

Ah, but he does speak the truth, for the most part. He tells it like it is and doesn't sugar-coat anything.

In 1998, we had HUGE MOMENTUM going into the playoffs. We won our last 2 games on last minute field goals. That carried over into the Dallas game.

I'll answer this question after Jan 4

Absolutely. For now this is just the kind of ridiculous BS that a dog like Collinsworthless would put out there because he gets paid to talk. Back in the mid-ninties I watched a Bears team get absolutely smoked in a playoff game by the niners. There wasn't a single good play by the bears. Thats just off the top of my head but there's no shortage of first round blow outs in the playoffs. Hell Dallas, when we beat em was a complete ass whooping that was only watchable to non-Cardinals fans because everyone hates Dallas. Maybe they should be considered the worst. We may end up as a candidate for the worst playoff team ever, but that can only be decided after the game is played. If we commit the sin of ruining a perfectly good playoff game, then I'll wear that shame. Until then Collinsworthless and his ilk can kiss my arse.

No. We are slumping..HARD. Warner is feeling the length of the season, and has played like crap recently. This has made the "can live with it" problems of the defense and the running game turn into killers of momentum. Without Warner slinging it for 300 and 2 or 3 TDs, the problems we have are highlighted and become worse. We can NOT win in this gimmick offense if Kurt is not at the top of his game.

However, when he is on, we are dangerous as hell. But we are bottoming as the playoffs draw nigh, instead of peaking. This makes us look worse than we are. We aren't going to win a Super Bowl...but we also aren't terrible.

We aren't who we think we are, but we also aren't who we thought we were either. We are a decent team who can play above our heads at times and look great, and can play like utter crap and look like the worst team to ever make the playoffs. Neither is correct.

All I know is I'm going to LOVE a playoff game at home.

No, I don't think so. As someone else mentioned the 04 Rams were an 8-8 wildcard behind the 9-7 Seahawks. The Rams went into Seattle and beat the Hawks in the wildcard round and then got totally embarrassed by the Falcons the next week. Also, that same year the 8-8 Vikings beat the 10-6 Packers in the opening round of the wildcard (that was the Randy Moss moons the crowd game). I'd say that the Cardinals are more talented than all of those 4 teams were, on both sides of the ball. The problem is, the Cards aren't going to draw any of those teams in round one of the playoffs. For the record, I'm predicting a Cardinals victory in round one if matched up against Dallas.

Seriously.

I agree with Donald. We are slumping hard, but I will still enjoy going to the playoffs.

i'm gonna go with the 7-9 Ken O'Brien led New York Jets team from I think 1991.

but we may be the worst division winner of all time.

They went 8-8...no team has had a 7-9 record or worse and made the playoffs

I know no one likes Madden comparisons, but I had a situation in franchise mode where I was facing a 6-10 division winner in the playoffs. As odd as it was, it tells me at least that it is statistically possibly for an NFL team to go 6-10 and make the playoffs. How funny would that be?

No not even close.

However they may be the least motivated regular season team that ever advanced to the playoffs because they've had zero pressure put on them as in all season to win.

I mean they've literally done the least like ever to win the division in terms of how hard it was to do, I can't recall a worse division although I'm sure there are some examples.

You could go 3-13 and make the playoffs. Arizona, Seattle, San Francisco, and St. Louis all split their head to head games and lose all the rest of their games, they would all be 3-13 and have to use a tie breaker to see who represented the west.

Boy hope that doesn't happen next year.

I think if the Broncos beat San Diego, they may be the worst playoff team this year...however, we could not beat them because they own us

At least the Broncos have had a boatload of injuries especially at running back. The Cardinals just self-destructed when they ran into good teams.
