With our team have a pretty darn good off season would it be fai to say that

If we add A WR or 2 and if we can get that passrusher or 2 could we go into next season with a real chance to win 8-10 games? If this is so and most of you have stated one way or the other that WR and DE are two top needs can we look for playoff tickets this year?

I think it is a real possability.

I'd say we were playoff bound IF....

1) the Cardinals either sign or draft a pass rusher that can get 10+ sacks and be always in the QBs face

2) Wendell Bryant develops in to the player we hope he can be and consistently gets a push up the middle further adding to our pass rush

3) They sign or draft a #1 WR who will demand respect by defenses and who can beat most CBs one on one consistently

4) The Cardinals running game is one of the leagues 10 best

5) The team is free of major injuries.

6) Freddie Jones becomes a part of the offensive game plan

7) Another CB is added to challenge Barrett, Barrett is a pretty good starter but if someone better beats him out he'd be an outstanding nickel guy(or would you rather see more Rhinehart and Hill?).

8 ) Jeff Blake plays consistent mistake free football, which he is more capable of than Plummer.

None of our offseason signing really blow me away but I do think they were all good moves(although I have my reservations about Emmitt)....but unless a true pass rusher and a #1 WR is found as well as the other things I list the team will be looking at 7 or 8 wins.

I think all of those things aren't out of the realm of possibility, however doubtful they would all line up in one season. I think your first and second points are most unlikely.

I hope Wendell Bryant isn't another first round bust...

Not ten yrs ago, now yes if...

If Bryant developes and the Cardinals can find a good pass rusher at DE (doesn't have to be great). If the Cardinals can get a player like Marcus Robinson after June 1st and stay healthy, you bet they can make the playoffs. Ten years ago probably not, but with free agency now no team is completely loaded and it comes down to who can stay healthy with the depth to keep the ship together.

I don't think at the moment we are anywhere close to being a playoff team but we still have plenty of time to build this team up before the season starts. If we sign Holliday and draft Suggs for the d-line and maybe get Junior Seau then we will only need another top cornerback for our D. The offense needs two WRs and I don't know where they will come from. The Cards have done nothing for our area's of weakness. So far the only position that I see that we upgraded was at FB. Right now I would still be looking to draft a QB or sign Brian Griese after June first. I know we have Jeff Blake but I think after this season is over everyone will be saying what were we thinking when we signed Blake. I think he is a #2 QB at best and I am not looking forward to the season with him as the starter. I hope we make some real free agent signings at somepoint this offseason to improve this team. Right now I am not very happy with Rod Graves and company.
