Are y’all going to say he still can’t throw on the run?

KM is still trying to throw to the receiver instead of to the spot where the receiver will be while running his route. It is most notable on targets to Fitz since Fitz is getting so few targets in the game plan. That throw that turned Ftiz into a pretzel is a case in point. Even the long TD to an open Kirk was a close call with Kirk having to stretch fingertips and almost stumble to make the catch. That 'throw to the receiver' approach can work in college ball when you have a superior WR (CC Lamb) going up against an average (meaning won't be drafted) CB.

Teams are using a lot of zone as opposed to man-2-man coverage. That keeps KM under visual control (theoretically) and allows coverage to pursue KM when he decides to run with the ball. If teams want to risk long runs by KM but increase the probability of intercepting KM, they should switch to man-2-man since too many times KM is trying to hit the receiver and not lead the receiver with the throw.

For some reason, KM and Fitz are just not in sync with one another. I don’t know if that is a result of so little pre-season time together or if both players are still learning the playbook??? For a good part of Fitz’s career, he was catching passes from journeyman QBs. Fitz still has enough speed to run slants and we saw an example in the Miami game with KM hitting Fitz in stride. We need more of this. It’s puzzling that these two great players are a tick out of step.

Totally agree.

Murray isn't even close to a finished product, but few QBs are at this point.

Russell Wilson wasn't as good as Murray at this point in Murray's career, though Wilson had a dominant running game and historically good defense supporting him.

Too many fans get caught up in the guys that hit their peak or near peak quickly (Mahomes). Often it takes QBs 3-4 years before they truly become the player that they will be.

Look at Brees in San Diego. He had a rough start in San Diego, and the Chargers moved on just as he started to be the player he was going to be. Murray is ahead of his curve.

Valid points... to an extent. I personally believe it's not a proper comparison to go back to QB stats, especially completion % for example, from 10 or more years ago... The passing game has changed so much since then, including the way in which PI calls are made.

Let's hope Kyler becomes a sponge and takes to heart coaching aimed at honing his throwing mechanics. If he can truly get there and become the sort of pocket passer on par with Wilson or Mahomes, we are all in for one helluva ride!!!!

We are in too many close games. I think they now have 5 games out of 9 that have been decided by 3 points or less and are 3-2. Need to put teams away when they can. Winning this way is not sustainable (the Chargers have perfected losing by 1 score the past three seasons).
