BA is very happy with Carson Palmer. Palmer is revitalized and highly motivated. It took Palmer some time to become well versed in BA's offense and as experienced and as diligent as Palmer is, what this suggests is that it is going to be much more difficult for a young QB to learn and run BA's system.
Because of the sophisticated nature of BA's offense---and BA's focus on excellence---I don't see him grooming a young QB to be Carson Palmer's successor.
First of all, BA has said it himself---it does no good to draft a QB high in the draft and then sit him.
When the Colts drafted Andrew Luck---Luck was the starter from day one---and unless the Cardinals find an Andrew Luck type, which is highly doubtful, what BA is going to do when the time comes is trade for or sign a veteran QB to be Carson Palmer's successor.
Thus---any QB the Cardinals add right now via FA, trades or the draft is for the #2 and #3 spots---there won't be any grooming of QBs as eventual starters because BA doesn't work that way.
This is BA's win now mode in full effect. There's no time for grooming.
