San Francisco was awarded two compensatory third-round picks when Robert Saleh was hired as the New York Jets head coach. They got another when former VP of player personnel Martin Mayhew was hired as the Washington Football Team GM. Those picks will be distributed across three years starting in 2021. They used their first comp pick on cornerback Ambry Thomas. Their second one was sent to the Dolphins in the trade up for the No. 3 pick, and their third will convey in 2023
