We can debate all day long but the bottom line is that at this point in time the Cards team is worse than it was at the end of the season. I just hope that changes.
At this point in time we are judging this team on paper, not performance. This is the life of an Arizona Cardinals fan. Every move made, and not made, by the team so far is nothing but woulda, shoulda, coulda, until the team actually hits the field and plays meaningful games.

With the bargain basement wait and see approach combined with few high-end draft picks, Keim MUST have some "cunning plan" and think he's the "smartest guy in the room" and can pull the wool over the eyes of the rest of the league. Since you and others think he's doing a good job...
I haven't said that either but that's fine. I think Keim is doing an ''ok'' job & that we could do a lot worse than him. I would say he's average overall with a few very good above average trades.

We're talking right now, not overall. I think folks are already on record with how they think he's doing overall. How do you think he's doing right now? And how do you think he will go about rebuilding this roster to where it needs to be?

He's re-signed some players from last year, signed a journeyman ILB on his fourth or fifth team now, a CB who didn't play a snap last season. Other than that? Crickets.

Now, he'll probably whiff on a 1st rounder AGAIN but find a Zach Allen in the 6th round that some will think is really good and a bunch of other drek that won't be around in 3 years.

Pretty much business as usual for Keim.

I don't think he'll do anything else until after the draft. It's too early to judge how he's doing now as there's still work to be done & I'm sure he knows it.

I'm sure he knows it, but I doubt his plan is adequate. How many key starters that will significantly contribute will we get out of the draft? Especially considering how little capital we have. How many key starters that will significantly contribute will we get out of FA/trades post draft, considering the dearth of talent left? We have gaping roster holes and they all need addressing to even get back to last year's level.

Haha so how do YOU see things working out? Please enlighten us rather than sit on the sidelines taking potshots. This board has a few comedians.
So sensitive. Thats not a pot shot, its defining your post. not you, not your personality, not your viewpoints. Your post.

I don't see things working out well, that's for sure. But, in a nutshell. And please, keep in mind, that as an example, being ok with letting CJ go doesnt equate to being ok with the situation now that he's gone. But I can still think it better he be gone now, even though Im concerned the hole hasnt been filled. Does that make sense? My individual thoughts do not have to be tied into the overall view I have of the team. I know I know, Im a wishy washy guy. Here we go.

Keim. Extension was a travesty. He's done many good things for this franchise. Hes done a ton of crap things as well. Felt like it was time to try someone new.
VJ. My eyes say his defense sucks. Cant take advantage of young gifted athletic players because his system is apparently too difficult. Would have loved to see him go. Bill Davis at the very effin least.
Kingsbury. I still believe in him to a degree. Id imagine after this coming season, if we continue to see the same results, my tune will change.
Murray. Immature kid with all the talent in the world and a knucklehead agent who completely mishandled his situation. His behavior is bothersome, but he is still leaps and bounds better than anything we have seen at the position since I became a fan, and I'm ready to ride or die with him.
CJ. Loved him, time to go. no issues with taking a 5th comp pick for him. We've seen that model work for successful franchises for years. Lets give it a run.
Kirk. A real effing conundrum. We need his production in the WR room, but we definitely don't need his boneheaded drops, and his inability to play outside against teams 1 or 2 CBs. Add in the money? Later!
Edmunds? Whatever. RBs come and go. Good luck. Not worried about losing his production, because we all know he was incapable of carrying the load himself. He gets 6 mil a year? Conner gets 7? WE couldnt do both, so I have to assume the plan is to see if Eno can step up. Heres hoping.
Lack of FA signings? This board steadfastly argues regularly that you cannot build a team thru FA, bad teams overpay in FA because they have to. All that. Then we dont do those things and we suck for not being aggresive. I dont know what to think. Ill leave that schmeg for the guys who get paid to to do this. I am a fan, not super knowledgeable, and therefore don't feel comfortable saying my thoughts or opinions hold any water of any kind. Cause they don't. Im just going to lay back, keep being a wise ass (apologies in advance) and hope for the best. I will not be losing any sleep over it, I can promise you that. Its just football.

so far:

the #1 issue the last two months of the 2021 season was that both lines got pushed around (and thats generous).

so far, nothing has happened to address that issue.

there might be some lift for the D line if JJ Watt can play for most of the season --

but what are they counting on O-line wise? They get Justin Murray back, but thats it.

You never plan for the unknown, Keim should be signing as many CB's & WR's as he can now while you still have options rather than wait 4 weeks when everyone will be most likely gone. ARZ should still draft a WR & CB and let everyone battle it out in camp, you can always release guys you sign if they can't earn a spot like Malcolm Butler last year.

Unless Keim is trading for a pass rusher I expect ARZ to take one with either 1st or 2nd rounder as there aren't any options left in FA except Clowney who is probably asking for too much.

I would sign:
Kyle Fuller
Kevin King
Trai Turner
Sammy Watkins

Draft
WR
EDGE
CB
OL
DL

I agree with most of this, which aligns with what I've been posting. I'm just a tad more...vocal about it :)

Something tells me we’re still going TE. At least in the 3rd round.

I agree with everything that you said except for maybe the last paragraph. The Rams have proven that you can build a team, and even with the big one in free agency.

The reason why we want more FA signings? We know Keim sucks at the draft, so we'd rather him go the free agency route. He can't possibly as bad at free agency as he is at drafting.
