The Arizona Cardinals enter the 2025 NFL draft with six selections, one each in every round except the sixth. Their first selection in the 16th pick in the draft.

They have bolstered their defense in free agency, adding depth and starters on the defensive line, defensive edge and at linebacker. They brought back a starting offensive lineman and added a potential starter and depth.

But even with those moves, they still have needs.

Entering the draft, what are the Cardinals' needs? Let's go over their more immediate roster needs, their longer-term needs and their lower-priority needs.

Arizona Cardinals draft needs: Immediate needs

The Cardinals' most glaring needs are at the following positions:

  • Guard
  • Inside linebacker
  • Wide receiver

The Cardinals don't have a sure starter at right guard currently. The receiver room has last year's No. 4 overall pick, Marvin Harrison Jr., but they certainly could improve behind him. Michael Wilson is solid but has not reached 600 yards in a season. Zay Jones had only eight receptions in 2024. Greg Dortch hasn't cracked 500 yards in the last two seasons.

At linebacker, they signed Akeem Davis-Gaither and Mykal Walker, but both have been primarily special teams players.

Arizona Cardinals' draft needs: Beyond 2025

Their longer-term needs include:

  • Defensive line
  • Safety
  • Tackle

They have a solid seven-man group on the defensive line, but Calais Campbell and L.J. Collier are only signed for one season and the Cardinals could get out of the contracts of Dalvin Tomlinson, Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols.

Jalen Thompson is signed only through 2025. They do have Rabbit Taylor-Demerson in the wings, but nothing really behind him.

Jonah Williams and Kelvin Beachum will be free agents after this coming season.

Lower priority needs

  • Quarterback
  • Running back
  • Tight end
  • Cornerback

The Cardinals remain committed to Kyler Murray and signed Jacoby Brissett to a two-year deal. At running back, they have James Conner signed two more years and second-year player Trey Benson. At tight end, they have three guys signed for at least two more years. At cornerback, they have drafted five in the last two years and Sean Murphy-Bunting signed through 2026.
