Tempe, AZ – The Arizona Cardinals and team mascot Big Red will host the 2005 NFL Mascot Convention on March 30-April 2 at its south Tempe training facility.

The 5th annual convention will be attended by Big Red and 15 of his fellow NFL mascots - Swoop (Philadelphia Eagles), Captain Fear (Tampa Bay Bucs), Toro (Houston Texans), Jaxson De Ville (Jacksonville Jaguars), Sourdough Sam (San Francisco 49ers), Miles (Denver Broncos), Freddie Falcon (Atlanta Falcons), TD (Miami Dolphins), Poe (Baltimore Ravens), Pat Patriot (New England Patriots), Staley (Chicago Bears), Rowdy (Dallas Cowboys), Sir Purr (Carolina Panthers), Roary (Detroit Lions), and T-Rac (Tennessee Titans).

On Wednesday and Thursday March 30-31 the group will conduct meetings with vendors, go over its best practices, and discuss industry trends and innovations and make plans for the upcoming season.

On Friday, April 1 the groups of mascots will visit children at Banner Children’s Hospital at Banner Medical Center (1400 S. Dobson Road, Mesa) and Phoenix Children’s Hospital (1919 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix) from 10:30-11:30 a.m. From 1:00-2:00 p.m. the group will be at Sun Health to visit another group of kids.

Later that afternoon the mascots will hold a two-hour free autograph session at Springhill Suites (5211 S. Priest Drive, Guadalupe) from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

I was going to make a stupid comment about this, but I will refrain. Once I saw that the mascots will be visiting kids, I changed my opinion of this "convention."
