Arizona's season-opening series against the Chicago Cubs concludes on March 30. The Diamondbacks head out on the road to New York for a three-game set against the Yankees beginning April 1, followed by a three-game series in Washington over the weekend against the Nationals.

Prized offseason acquisition Corbin Burnes will make his Diamondbacks debut on April 1. Though Yankee Stadium can be a tough ballpark for right-handed pitchers, Burnes has not had any trouble there in his career.

Burnes has started there twice — once in 2023, once last year — and has given up just one run in a combined 13 innings, with three walks and 16 strikeouts.

The Diamondbacks will see a familiar face in pinstripes for the first time: Paul Goldschmidt, who was the face of the Diamondbacks franchise for more than a half-decade, signed a one-year deal with the Yankees over the winter and was New York's starting first baseman on Opening Day.

When they face the Nationals, the Diamondbacks will try to extend a run of success against them. Since the start of 2023, the Diamondbacks are 10-2 against the Nationals, having gone 5-1 each year.
