Arizona Diamondbacks select ASU baseball's Cory Hahn in MLB draft
The Arizona Diamondbacks selected Arizona State’s Cory Hahn, paralyzed from mid-chest down during a head-first slide in February 2011, in the 34th round of the major league draft Saturday.
Hahn has continued as a student coach at ASU since his accident.
An outfielder, Hahn was named California’s Mr. Baseball in 2010 when he also pitched in leading Mater Dei High School to a state title. He was a 26th-round draft pick by San Diego in 2010 and would have been selected higher if not planned to go to college. He was injured in his third game at ASU.
