The Arizona Diamondbacks hammered Chris Young again and narrowed the gap in the NL West. Extending their mastery of San Diego's All-Star, Tony Clark and Eric Byrnes homered as the Diamondbacks defeated San Diego 9-1 on Tuesday night to pull within .001 of the division-leading Padres. Doug Davis (13-11) allowed one run in seven innings as he reached a career high in victories.
