Nice player who never lived up to the hype but at the same time was given somewhat of a raw deal at Arizona. The guy never got elite level coaching during his three years in Tucson. What he does as a p[ro depends on what route his people decide he should take. If he tries to become a multi-faceted impact player like Casey Jacobsen he'll flame out rather quickly, if he decides to dedicate himself solely to the craft of shooting like Jason Kapono he should have a long NBA career.

Honestly, probably not the worst decision for him. He'll get more guaranteed money this year. Next year he might not get any. I can imagine a contender taking him in the 20s for scoring off the bench. He can do that right now.

He can play pro ball. Might even contribute right away.

He's still got a long way to go. I think he'll get minutes coming off the bench his first few years but nothing substantial until he gets more consistent. I watched too many games where he just laid an egg.

Budinger's much more athletic than Kapono but so far he's not nearly as good of a shooter.

Kapono's worst year at UCLA he shot .398 from 3(senior year). budinger's best year at UA he shot .399 from 3. Kapono was 47, 46 and 45% his first 3 years he had an ankle problem IIRC as a senior that hurt his shooting.

Kapono is just one of those special shooters I doubt Budinger will ever be THAT good a shooter but obviously has a chance to do a lot of things Kapono can't because he's so athletic.

It'll be interesting to see how his career plays out.

I think Budinger would be a perfect fit for the Suns at #14.

He's limited but playing in a wide open offense with Nash where he can run, jump and shoot would maximize his talents IMO.

Plus the no defense plan the Suns have in place works perfectly with Chase's skill set. ;)

If the Suns draft him, I'm going to offer you to the public noose on the Suns board. Don't put ideas in Kerr's head.

If we were drafting higher I wouldn't touch him. But the amount of production he will give a team like the Suns is equal to the 14th pick.

I have watched him for three years. I know his limitations and strengths.

Which is why I think he will fit in with the Suns.

Besides he needs my help. Look what he did with the 15th pick this past year.

No, the Suns need to shoot for the stars this lottery. I think Chase has a good chance of being a very good role player in the NBA but that's about it.

Please, just say NO to Chase Budinger! Why in the world would we replace Alondo Tucker with... ANOTHER Alondo Tucker??

The Suns do not need Chase. I can see Chase in a Boston or Utah uniform.

Mao - in this draft there will be no stars at #14. And if there are we will be sure to pass them up.

By the way I love the avatar line. I should have stole that for mine:)
