I have never heard of the woman golfer or the softball player not named Jenny.

Amanda Beard had a mustache in that picture.

Otherwise, not bad.

Who is/was better Eric Allen or Chris McAlister? Just asking.

They are both pretty darn good, but probably Eric Allen in his prime.

Wow Guys Im kinda shocked. Lorena Ochoa and Annika Sorenstam are the #1 and #2 golfers in their sport (annika is #1 BTW).

Taryn Mowatt is the stud pitcher who led the UA to the title this year.

I don't consider myself a womens golf or softball expert but I watch enough Sports Center and follow my school close enough to know they are Big Time.

Learn the names boys. We will likely need it when AZBALLER gets in on the convo and starts bringing up obscure waterpolo players to cite ASU's real supremacy over our cats;)

I disagree. Allen was never a shut down guy and more of a journey man if IIRC. Check the Pro Bowl invites on that.

McCallister doesnt get the love he deserves playing on that big name defense but he is one of the main reasons guys like Ed Reed and Ray Lewis can fly around the field.

no way.

EDIT:

Looks like Eric Allen made the Pro Bowl five times.

And I would offer than most if not all CB's are, in some ways, products of their teams' defensive front seven and not the other way around.

Got me there. MCAlister has been 3 times so far. He also has the record for longest play in NFL history with his 107 yard FG return.

Hmmm.... if I had to come up with KU's top ten. I'd say:

1) Wilt
2) Gale Sayers
3) John Riggins
4) Lynette Woodard
5) Jo Jo White
6) Clyde Lovellette
7) Danny Manning
8) Jim Ryun
9) Al Oerter
10) Billy Mills

McAlister is very good. Give him a few years and he will probably have more probowls.

But what is with Amanda Beard? There has to be a better pic of her somewhere.

Damn it, missed that Allen/McAlister debate.

Agree with Mulli on all accounts.

Especially the Jennie Fitch/Amanda Beard comments.

As far as the poll goes, it looks like a "what did you do AT UofA, not after"

I'd expect to probably see Annika at #1 instead of Ochoa.

Wait ... didn't UA produce a few good baseball players? And what about all those bloody Olympic swimmers? Gary Hall Jr?

Yeah seriously - Trevor Hoffman the all time leader of saves maybe?

How about some love for Gilbert too????

Trevor Hoffman was probably the best, but he was only an above average SS in college. If this was entire careers you would have seen him, Hibachi, Jet Terry (should've been on there regardless for being Nat'l POY), and perhaps Steve Kerr.

Birth to 32, Phoenix. Now, enemy territory.
I was thinking at first this was going to include Pro's but apparently it's a tribute to the U of A.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0708/campus.arizona.top10/content.10.html

God we rule.

I will be waiting patiently for ASU's version;)

(I guess B Bonds, Phil Mickelson and Jake Plummer is nothing to scoff at but this is our moment in the sun Devil fans....)

In defense of UA (and I hold no love for anything south of Casa Grande), that's a horrible list. I've never even heard of that Taryne chick. Only one player from the basektball program? Did Jim Furyk not do anything noteworthy at the collegiate level?

As for the ASU list for which you have been waiting so patiently:

Reggie Jackson
Barry Bonds
Pat Tillman (Pac-10 defensive player of the year)
Phil Mickelson
Danny White
Jake Plummer
Randall McDaniel
Darren Woodson
Eric Allen
Paul LoDuca
Byron Scott
Terrell Suggs
Billy Mayfair

To give the boys some company, I'll throw in:

Danielle Ammaccapane
Grace Park

^Don't forget Curley Culp. 6 time NFL Pro Bowler, was basically the original Nose Tackle, plus he won the 1967 NCAA wrestling title.
