PROVIDENCE — Arkansas vs. St. John’s had the country’s attention when the brackets were announced.

It’s John Calipari and Rick Pitino again in the NCAA Tournament. And somehow the two programs surpassed everyone’s expectations. Calipari and the Razorbacks are off to the Sweet 16 in upset fashion.

A right-handed finish by D.J. Wagner provided the cushion with 30 seconds left and deflated a strong St. John’s fan base at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. The defense held St. John’s scoreless down the stretch as Arkansas booked its tickets out of Providence with an 75-66 win on Saturday afternoon in the Round of 32.

Billy Richmond III led Arkansas with 16 points and Karter Knox added 15. The Razorbacks are off to the Sweet 6, and will face the winner of Drake and Texas Tech, which tips off at 6:10 p.m.
