Army staged a furious comeback for the second game in a row but could not survive a final push by homestanding Rutgers and bowed in the second round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament 71-60 on Sunday in Piscataway, N.J.

The setback puts an end to an historic season by the Black Knights (25-8). Army was runner-up in the Patriot League tournament, and posted its first NCAA Div. I postseason win three days earlier with a huge comeback win at Bryant. Its 25 victories is No. 2 all-time for the Black Knights.
