ASU coach Dirk Koetter on host Tom Arnold of the Best Damn Sports Show Period crushing the ASU football helmet that he gave to him as a gift
At least one Hawkeyes fan is a sore loser
Tom Arnold flattened the Arizona State football helmet given to him by head coach Dirk Koetter on Tuesday and perhaps permanently flat-lined ratings for his Best **** Sports Show Period in the nation's fifth-largest city.
Rather than display the $100 authentic helmet that Koetter gave to him because ASU beat Iowa, Arnold's alma mater, 44-7 on Saturday, the comedian/host of the FSN program opted instead to destroy the helmet in a crusher.
"That's sort of what we did to his team, isn't it?" Koetter said.
The demolition occurred just one night after Arnold seemingly lived up to the spirit of the bet on Monday. But then, is anyone really surprised about Arnold doing something sophomoric?
"He's either a man of his word or he's not," Koetter said. "I've been singing his praises that he's a man of his word, and if he's not, he's not. That's his problem."
