My biggest takeaway from Doug Williams presser - Redskins have lots of needs but not truly desperate anywhere. That means a lot of things could happen come Thursday.

Devin White LB, College Player
MMQB's Albert Breer reports the Bucs love LSU LB Devin White.
Off-ball linebackers are not valued as highly as they once were, but White is one of the best players in this draft regardless of position. He would also fill a big need for the Bucs after they lost Kwon Alexander in free agency. White to Tampa at No. 5 makes a lot of sense.

Josh Jacobs RB, College Player
NBC Sports' Peter King reports the Eagles, Colts, and Raiders are "quite interested" in Alabama RB Josh Jacobs.
King has the Raiders trading up to select Jacobs with the No. 21 pick in his mock draft, but the Eagles at No. 25 or the Colts at No. 26 could be options as well. In a down year at the position, Jacobs is the top running back available in the draft. He has a good chance to come off the board on Day 1.

Josh Allen LB, College Player
NBC Sports' Peter King was told the Jets "don't love" Kentucky OLB Josh Allen.
As is seemingly always the case, the Jets need an edge rusher, and Allen is expected to be the top option on the board when New York gets on the clock. If they are lukewarm on him, however, the trade rumors which have surrounded the No. 3 pick in recent weeks make a lot of sense. The Jets are one of the more likely teams to trade down on Thursday night.

Leaks that the #Patriots love Will Grier days before the draft? I have no doubt they like Grier, had him in my final mock before this, but we are in ultimate smoke screen mode right now.

  • Senior VP of player personnel Doug Williams said Washington needs a "go-to" receiver.
Washington drafted Josh Doctson in the first round back in 2016 and gave Paul Richardson a big deal last season, but they still are looking for a difference maker at receiver. This year's draft class might not have a true blue-chip prospect, but it is deep with talented receivers who have the upside to become go-to options. Ole Miss WR D.K. Metcalf is one of those, and he should be available at No. 15.

Chiefs may be a team to watch for Frank Clark trade
Frank Clark[/a] had died down a week ago, but it flared back up again a short time later and appears to still be very much alive.' type="text" data-reactid="18">There was a report that the chances of a trade involving Seahawks defensive end Frank Clark had died down a week ago, but it flared back up again a short time later and appears to still be very much alive.

A recent report pegged the Bills and Jets as teams interested in making a deal for Clark, but it appears there’s some buzz connecting the Chiefs to a deal as well.

Football Morning in America, Peter King projects the Chiefs trading the 29th and 63rd picks to the Seahawks in order to acquire Clark. Albert Breer of SI.com also has the Chiefs as a team to watch closely in a Monday column and mentions the Seahawks are looking for the first- and second-round picks that are included in the projected trade.' type="text" data-reactid="20">In this week’s Football Morning in America, Peter King projects the Chiefs trading the 29th and 63rd picks to the Seahawks in order to acquire Clark. This is concerning. There's a scenario where if we trade back to the Raiders, all of Q Williams, Bosa, and Oliver are gone by #4. Those are the top guys on my board, personally. I'd feel pretty bad about moving back and getting stuck with Murray or settling for Allen.

You don't need to worry - anybody trading up to #1 would only be doing it for Murray.

I don't necessarily think that's so terrible.

The way it would go down -

Cards keep Rosen until they're off the clock

We trade out of #1 with the Raiders

Worst case scenario - SF grabs Bosa Jets draft Q Williams

If Raiders take Murray, we keep Rosen and select J Allen, D White, Oliver or maybe even Hockenson - plus what we get from the Raiders

If Raiders draft say J Allen, we have the option of (1) keeping both QBs and drafting Oliver, D White or Hockenson or (2) drafting Murray and trading Rosen. Plus - what we get from the Raiders and the Rosen trade.

I know it looks complicated but I think it would work.

Why?

Suppose you're SF and totally love Bosa? You'd be vulnerable to a threat by the Cards to trade down to another team willing to trade up to get Bosa.

Same scenario would apply to the Jets - with the Cards extorting them under the threat of their trading down to a team wanting to grab, say, Q Williams

I hate the wonderlic bc I want a smart qb. But I think we’ve seen (as this indicates) that there’s little correlation to success.

There must be some correlation as rumor is some teams won't consider a QB who scores under 25. It is just a part of the overall package, obviously Gardner Minshew's 42 isn't going to vault him up the draft boards when you look at all his other measureables.

Newton was #1 overall with a 21, Vick was #1 overall with a 20 so obviously there lower score was overlooked for their physical attributes. In recent drafts Goff had a 36 and like I said Mayfield was a 25.

It's at least a reason to pause and wonder if Murray's poor white board and interview reports didn't have some validity.

I think this is exactly what is going on. It almost has to be. If they are entertaining thoughts of trading down they have to have a plan B. Personally I think we are drafting Murray. And if that’s true I certainly hope the cards aren’t going to hold onto Rosen for what they deem value in return. If they get a #2 and a #4 so be it.

#Jets are interested in Frank Clark, per sources. Just don’t have ammunition to get it done. Seahawks want No. 3 pick and #NYJ won’t give it up. Believe Chiefs most likely to iron something out.
Sounds like the Seahawks are desperate to get some draft picks.. only having four and all. Even the nerve to ask for the #3 pick. Haha. Beggers can't be choosers...best of luck to ya.
