Saw this the other day. I remember watching the original with my parents way back in the day. This version was missing something. Maybe it was the difference of Dudley Moore vs Russell Brand. I always see Brand as a smart ass and it was hard to get over that. For me it just wasn't that funny and in the end was a very forgettable movie.

Don't want to see it. As I am not a RB fan. As Mad Cow Disease hit it head on! The original is the origina!

I'm a Helen Mirren and she is a very good actress. However changing Hobson from a Butler to a Nannie was another thing that was hard for me to swallow. I think the original story just worked better with Hobson being a butler.

Its even simpler than that:

Dudley Moore = AWESOME

Russell Brand = *****!

Not awesome. Each are mediocre in their own way.

I agree and the original Arthur was vastly overrated. Dudley Moore keeps going from extreme overacting to 'serious' Dudley Moore, sometimes several times in a scene. The "hot girl" in that movie was Liza freaking Minelli for crying out loud.

Totally only about 3 jokes in that movie. 1) I shall alert the media 2) Walk this way 3) where is the rest of that moose.
