After ready that I feel the Cards should move up to number one and take Suggs. He sounds just to damn good to pass up.

I got alot of grief for my trade up to get suggs thread a few weeks ago..This is the most glaring weakness on this team and it appears the need cannot be filled via free agency. All NFC teams that made the playoffs have one thing in common - a positive turnover ratios. All non-playoff teams in the NFC had one thing in common..a negative turnover ratio.. we need 2 things to fix this: a qb who is less turnover prone and a pass rusher. we got the qb..we need a pass rusher. give up round 2 or 3 picks..we have had little success on these picks historically anyway.. I would rather have suggs and fill wr via free agency and from what we had or have(sanders, jenkins, etc)..

Assuming that we decide that Suggs is a "must have" and that we are going to have to trade up to get him(does anyone really believe we need to go to #1......I'm thinking #3), what would be considered a fair offer to get to #3........and what would we need for Cincy's #1?

If it was decide that Suggs is a "must have" that would mean I would take number one. IMO

#1, #3, #4 for Cincci's #1 and another pick (#5 or 6)

#1 and #3 for Huston's #1 and another pick

Throw in TJ to seal the deal

How often is it that your biggest need is amazing and a top 3 pick.

Plus he was quoted that he would love to come in and play for the Cards.

Unfortunately, it is far too often that our key need is a high draft pick. If we have to give up our 1st and 3rd and 4th rounders for Cincy's #1, then I think that is too much. We need those middle round picks. Our #6 and our third rounder for Houston's 1st round pick {only if Suggs is there} would be palatable.

I too have been harping on this for some time. The only way to assure ourselves that we will absolutely address our pass rush is to move all the way up to number one. And I really don't care what it takes. For the # 1 pick, I would give up our number one this year and our number one next year. It's a ballsy move but one that must be done.

Why?

1) he addresses our biggest and still unfilled need;

2) he's going to be an all-pro for the next ten years in this league;

3) he WANTS to play in Ariz;

4) if we are #1 we can negotiate a contract before drafting him thereby assuring there will not be any sort of holdout;

5) for all of the above reasons, it just makes too much sense.

Our scouting is so horrible that middle round picks for us are almost always busts. Hopefully Graves can fix this.
