Sonny Gray has not allowed a hit through six innings of his opening-night start for the Oakland Athletics against the Texas Rangers. Gray had allowed only two baserunners Monday night at the Oakland Coliseum. He hit a batter with a pitch in the third inning, and A's left fielder Ben Zobrist dropped Leonys Martin's sinking liner for a two-base error in the sixth. Gray needed only 74 pitches to get through six innings as the A's tried to snap a 10-game losing streak on opening day, a major league record.
