Right now, I'm doubting ANY Arizona Wildcat declares for the draft. Certainly Channing Frye won't, and the odds are against Hassan Adams and Salim Stoudamire coming out also. Andre Igoudala has had some triple's this year, but otherwise he hasn't had a truly spectacular game for a while. The question is, will it hurt him to stay a year, like it did Luke Walton?

He keeps rising on the various mock drafts I follow although I'm not sure why. nbadraft.net has him at #7 and draftcity.com has him at #6. HoopsHype has him at #8. Colleghoops.net has him at #14. I can't see it, but he certainly has been getting the buzz.

If Iguodala gets solid information that he will be taken in the lottery he would be a fool not to declare for the draft. At the very least I suspect he'll attend some of the camps on his own dime.

I just don't understand why any site makes him #7 on their draft list. But then again, it's still early and even though I like him, I expect him to drop during and after the tournament.

araujo could be the worst prospect i've ever seen play. stiff. no, a stiff is more athletic than he is. i know, i know, good numbers, but if ever there was a case that numbers lie . . . he ain't got the thang for the nba schwang.

The next Joe Klein maybe?

I think the reason he is getting some attention is that teams are figuring out that it is really hard to win without some low post offense. I had similar concerns about Chris Kaman, but he went very high anyway even though the Clips already had Brand for scoring. But I have to say I was underwhelmed in the game I watched him play.

George, Kaman's athleticism is Jordanesque compared to Araujo. When I watched him play Araujo was slow, lumbering, and looked like he had his feet nailed to the floor most of the game. It looked to me like he was putting a great numbers because he was so much bigger than everybody on the court. That doesn't come close to cutting it when players make the jump to the NBA however.

I like Kaman. He's not great, but I think he's better than any of the centers on the Phoenix Suns current roster.

That would be a problem. :D

A few weeks ago I posted that I had seem Araujo and was very unimpressed. Someone dumped on me because I had not watched him play more than about 15 minutes, but that was enough.

BTW, Kamen is playing better than I expected. He may be better than Voskuhl and White, but that does not mean he very good.

Andre Iguodala is putting up better #'s (other than 3PT Pct and PTS) than Joe Johnson did in college and JJ was I believe #10 pick. This while being on team with future NBA players - Adams, Frye, Stoudamire, Shakur - shoot even Chris Rodgers' Senior year could be a Chris Duhon like prospect. Vince Carter himself didn't put up great #'s in college.

Athletic ability, length, defensive skills, 3 position ability, great handle, unselfish, etc. - scoring points isn't only stat I look for = PTS 12 REB 8 AST 5 STL 2 BLK .5 - Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady weren't good shooters early on.

I do agree Tournament could help/hurt Iguodala - but a top prospect.

Iguodala's outside shot and him being only 6'6" makes him a doubtful choice as an early lottery pick. He may be a guy who really takes off in the NBA, but hardly a sure thing.

BTW, JJ's college numbers his sophomore year were 14.2 ppg on 46.8% shooting including 44.3% for three. Also, JJ grabed 6.4 rpg.
