I picked May because I think Kuptchack is just going to look at the draft list right after the Warriors pick, then says, "Oh, Sean May. He went to North Carolina. Didn't they win a championship?"

It's the same reason he hired Tomjanovich. He'd heard of him. The only reason he picked Vujacic last year is because all those mock drafts told him to.

Oh man do I PRAY they take Sean May. Amare's sack will be resting on his nose throughout his career as he dunks on him repeatedly.

May is just the kind of softy LA DOESN'T need - that's exactly why Mitch Kupcake will take him!

I had to go with Jarret Jack because Chucky Atkins just ain't going to cut it for very much longer.

I say Ike has played well enough to get a top ten pick. And he could allow Odom to to play his natural SF full-time.

9 Chucky Atkins PG 5-11 160 Aug. 14, 1974 South Florida
15 Tony Bobbitt G 6-4 190 Oct. 22, 1979 Cincinnati
5 Tierre Brown PG 6-2 189 Jun. 3, 1979 McNeese State
8 Kobe Bryant SG 6-6 220 Aug. 23, 1978
1 Caron Butler SF 6-7 217 Mar. 13, 1980 Connecticut
43 Brian Cook PF 6-9 234 Dec. 4, 1980 Illinois
12 Vlade Divac C 7-1 260 Feb. 3, 1968
3 Devean George SF 6-8 240 Aug. 29, 1977 Augsburg
55 Brian Grant FC 6-9 254 Mar. 5, 1972 Xavier
20 Jumaine Jones SF 6-8 218 Feb. 10, 1979 Georgia
14 Stanislav Medvedenko FC 6-10 250 Apr. 4, 1979
31 Chris Mihm FC 7-0 265 Jul. 16, 1979 Texas
7 Lamar Odom SF 6-10 230 Nov. 6, 1979 Rhode Island
18 Sasha Vujacic G 6-7 193 Mar. 8, 1984
4 Luke Walton SF 6-8 235 Mar. 28, 1980 Arizona

The Lakers need a point guard, but is Jack a top 10 pick? Not sure he is.

How many Lakers fans are on this board? I'd like to see, how they'd vote...

I would probably pick Ike Diogu based on need and BPA. Mihm, Grant, Diogu, Odom, Cook; whoever else, isn't that bad. Picking Jack is a bit of a reach IMO. No need for a wing...

The Lakers need a lot, but they seem set at the "swing" positions. They need either a PG or C.

I would say C is more urgent as Vlade is the only true center they have. After him is Brian Grant who is only 6-9. I voted for Villenueva since he is bigger, can play PF or C, and could move Odom over to SF.

Divac, Mihm, and B Grant - should able to get it done, if the team can add a legit PF and move Lamar Odom to SF, part time.

B Grant, Odom, and say Diogu wouldn't be too shabby at the 4.

Odom, Butler, Bryant, etc. at wings... and I'd think the 3 could play together with Odom's and Bryant's ballhandling a few minutes a game.

Jack could move up the charts though but Ike Diogu is legit.

Right, but I dont think he's that great. I think Villenuva (or one of the other PF/C kind of guys) could get picked by LA to move Odom to SF. Anyway, I think they take a big, its just a matter of which big is rated highest on their board.

Can we just move to the Suns Pick already :D

A few more Picks and I will do Two Picks a day and I hope that goes well, I am going to start after Lottery (just incase I forget at night time, or fall asleep) and that will give us a few days extra incase something else comes up... should finish 2 or 3 days before Draft.

I promise the pick will not be Jack. I really doubt they would take Ike that high, but he would be a good player for them because they need a PF with a post game.

If I were them, I would try to trade one of my 17 swing men to move up and take Deron Williams. He would prob be a good fit. They would benefit from a good defensive PG since Kobe handles the ball so much.

Must have been too late but wanted to see if Jackson came back as coach. Sean May would be perfect for the triangle offense. They need a PF as well as PG.

No way in hell they take Jack. He was being forecasted as a late 1st rounder. He is not a top 10 pick. Lakers will take the best talent possible here, which is Villanueva.

I don't know about Villanueva, but I agree there's no way they take Jack at #10.

Aha, the flaw in this scheme shows up. 10 votes for a PG and 27 votes for F's but the forward votes were scattered over a half dozen guys. Phil disdains anything resembling a typical PG for his triangle offense, so Jack has little chance of being the Lakers pick. Makes me wonder if several people just went with the guy at the top of the list...

Come on now... That's mighty insulting. Jack probably won't go all the way up at 10, but to speculate that people on this board chose him because he was at the top of the list of players is just plain dumb.

I try to keep position's in order... PG, G, SG, G/F, SF, F, PF, F/C, C.

It doesn't come out perfect but that's why the order is like that, after the first few Picks. I think members voted for Jack because they think the Lakers need a PG - IMO that is much too high for Jack, but I'm not sure how to make the system perfect. I try to at least keep 1 option for every position... outside of Jack, I think the other Picks have been okay so far.

Some of the Prospects, I've checked Chad Ford's top-10 position list and George O'Brien's team needs Thread.

I apologize to all who voted for Jack, whether they were insulted or not. Just because I might vote for the guy at the top of the list because he's there, doesn't mean anyone else would.

The flaw in the scheme is that we don't see the distribution of votes before we vote, and in this case I might have changed my vote to another forward since there were several that seemed about on a par and I'd have gone with the frontrunner so as to lessen the chance of Jack getting selected, who I do think is truly a most unlikely candidate for the Lakers.

Of course, if we all saw the vote standings before we voted that might make for too many cases of the snowball effect, which is also not good.

I'm hoping the Lakers are not players in FA market because I could see Phil Jackson drooling at the thought of picking up another JJ - Joe Johnson. He'd be a perfect backcourt mate for Kobe in the triangle - strong defender, good ball handler, excellent spot up shooter and he'd more than hold his own when offensive rotations carried him into the post. Heck, I could see Winter adding some wrinkles just to make that happen more.

the Lakers would have to do a salary dump of epic proportions in order to get into the JJ bidding.
