This appears to be a good trade for the Pelicans as Asik can play beside Anthony Davis. On the other hand, I dislike anything that helps the Rockets.

maybe they're looking at playing Davis at the PF slot (he looked comfortable at either C or PF) ala Duncan and pairing him with a big defensive C like the Spurs did back in the day.

and the pick is 2015, right? maybe it has some protection on it or they hope they won't be in the lotto.

The protection it top 2/3 but it also can't be worse than 20.

Basically Houston will get a #3-20 pick from NO for Asik. Looking at New Orleans that is probably a top 12 pick.

Unfortunately Asik is extremely limited on offense which will cause Anthony Davis to be double teamed consistently.

as opposed to the garbage he played with up front this year? Anderson only played 22 games this year and Davis still dominated with pretty much nothing else next to him.
