Check the over/under on that one.

Northwestern put up a bunch of points in their opener!

I like ASU's chances if they can keep it close. Northwestern's K really was horrible. Sadly I fear ASU will be unable to keep it close what with being on the road and it being a very early game by ASU standards (9am)

The play of the offensive and defensive line must improve. UTEP is no Big 10 team.

Awful!! I wouldn't be surprised if they had a new kicker Saturday.

Read in the paper this AM that Northwestern threw the ball 62 times. 62!!! I know they were battling from behind but WOW.

ASU had better have their A game for this one.

Little info about NU's kicker:

Errant kicker keeps his spot

It remains to be seen whether Northwestern will continue to have one player handle both punting and kicking duties.

Brian Huffman earned both jobs after averaging nearly 40 yards per punt last season and converting five of seven field goals, including one in the Motor City Bowl. But while Huffman averaged 43.5 yards on two punts in Thursday night's 48-45 double-overtime loss at TCU, he missed five of his six field-goal attempts, including two in overtime.

Early indications are that no change is in the works.

Coach Randy Walker said Huffman "hadn't missed [five] kicks all camp. He just wasn't striking the ball right. You could tell, it just wasn't coming off his foot. But he's a good kicker. He was good all camp."

The Wildcats lost despite Brett Basanez passing for a school-record 513 yards.

It looked like the ASU o-line really wore them down in the end of that game.

That was a physically dominating ASU team out there. I haven't seen that in a while.

Loren Wade just runs right through people. Dale Robinson laid one of the most vicious hits on a QB I've seen in a long time. And, the overall intensity of the tackling was quite impressive.

However, there are holes. As good as the D looks sometimes, it also tends to give up the big play once again. That's got to stop. Especially with Iowa, USC, and Cal on the horizon.

Walter needs to come out sharp from the beginning, and his WR's (mainly Terry Richardson) need to hang on to the ball.

The last drive of the game was vintage. The turnover that started that drive was a perfect hit on the RB.

Mark Carrier is making a helluva impression on me. Talk about making your presence felt.

Northwestern is no joke. They will cause headaches in their conference. Very good win for the Devils.

Let's not get carried away. It was a good win - only the fifth road win since Koeter got to Tempe - but NU is clearly in the bottom half of that conference. The first three games of this year get tougher for ASU. Will they be up to Iowa?

Now, now Wiz. Where did I get carried away? I didn't say NU was going to the BCS. Just merely going to cause headaches. :D

You can't take anything at all away from ASU, but Iowa will be a much more severe test than Northwestern.
