Per Rivals.Com, 2 Sun Devil commits have been named to the EA Sports Second Team All-American team. Dmitri Nance was selected as a RB, and Kyle Williams from my alma-mater Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, was a "multi-purpose" selection. Go Devils.

You should probably talk to Bonney, because he thought Nance was only a 2 star player...How could he be wrong?

I just read a post on the ASUDevils.com free board ripping Bonney for his postseason Arizona Top 20 rankings. Kyle Williams doesnt even make the list, yet some damn Kicker is rated as number 19. The poster comments on Bonney's big UofA bias. What a joke. Go Devils.

I don't know what's funnier - ASU fans badmouthing the recruiting services out of one side of their mouth while using the same services to prop up their players out of the other side or the belief among Sun Devil fans that there is a national conspiracy among recruiting services to degrade ASU commits. Always good for a laugh.

Actually the EA Sports All-American Team is not affiliated with any of the recruiting sites. Im just giving credit where credit is due. Go Devils.

Also note that while some ASU fans may bash the star system, one ASU fan pointing out this EA award, doesn't mean all ASU fans are pointing it out. DevilPrideBAS doesn't speak for all ASU fans, nor does anyone else- so I don't see how anyone is speaking out of both sides of their mouth.

As for these awards, they are fine, I don't really care about them or the star system. ASU got D. Nance who rushed for over 3K yards on 9+yards per carry, in the biggest, toughest division in Texas, Ill always be happy w/ recruits like that.

It's just an observation I noticed on this board by some of the more vocal ASU fans, not all you guys are guilty of it. Like many ASU fans I don't put much stock into individual rankings by Rivals or Scout or whoever either. But I don't think it's a coincidence that schools like Texas, USC, LSU, and Miami get top-ranked recruiting classes every year and find themselves in the Top 10 teams in the real polls every year as well.

And to comment on Bonney who AZBALLER seems to have a strange infatuation with, I don't read or pay for the service that Scout.com provides. The few times I have read his stuff he appears to be pretty myopic with a heavy dose of delusion and stupidity. I guess some people like that kind of "journalism" because they get what they want to hear, but it is pretty common in the world of Internet recruiting websites. You gotta take that stuff with a mountain of salt.

I certainly am not infatuated with Bonney, but some of your fellow UA fans seem to think his opinion means something...I simply try to point out what you just said about him...Apparently, that's ok for you to do so, but not for me...?

We get it - you think he has no credibility. No need to bring up a writer for a whole other website every time there is a recruiting conversation.

ok, point taken...

I won't refer to him, unless his name or the company he works for and rates players for is brought up...

.

Oh I agree totally. On average, 5 stars players are going to better, its just the law of averages- they are likely more physically gifted. However, the system of have very few scouts, rank players who they may have never seen, and rank them w/ their own biases and opinions is certainly not a scientific system.

So I guess what Im getting at is, if UofA ends the season w/ an average star ranking of 3.1 and ASUs is 2.8, I dont think that can be considered a significant difference, its with in the margin of error.

A majority of Arizona fans know better about Bonney... His credibility is not very high, but I guess that depends on who you talk to. You guys can act like Bonney has an big influence on ratings, but he doesn't nor should he.

Don't put too much of an emphasis on what Bonney reports, because most of us know why not to.
