Brandon Dunson committed today.

http://midstatehoops.com/v5/?p=4189

Dunson, a versatile 6’3” guard, is currently the starting point guard at Wabash Valley College, one of the country’s top junior college teams. Averaging 12 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds he chose Arizona State over California, Illinois, Oklahoma State, and UCLA.
Here's some highlights:

Definite need in this class as Glasser will be gone and McMillan will be a Senior. He's certainly an upgrade athletically over Glasser.

Good get for ASU. Its interesting, it means Brandon Thompson probably isn't wowing anyone in practice and wont really contribute until his JR year. I also wonder what this means for the Demetrius Walker at PG experiment.

Good get for ASU I know a lot of UCLA fans were hoping he'd end up at UCLA. His twitter account had mentioned UCLA had been in contact with him a couple of times and he sure looks talented on the videos I've seen.

Weird year in the Pac 10 seems like everyone is scouting Juco PG's.

From this clip he looks like a poor man's Brandon Jennings particulary being a lefty, looks like he may have his ballhandling skills but definitely a scorer.

Yeah but remember everyone looks great in those clips. I think he's averaging about 12 PPG this year, something like that and he averaged 3 PPG at SIU as a freshman. but everyone seems to like him one of the guys on BRO who usually is in the know said an NBA scout told him Dunson might be a better pro prospect than any guard currently in the pac 10 so apparently he's a late bloomer.

There's another Juco guard in SoCal named Kenny Brown that the whole Pac 10 is watching. He's like 5'9" or 5'10" but can really jump, again his highlight videos are very impressive. UCLA looked at him hard but decided on Lazeric Jones and then started looking at Dunson too I suspect they were concerned by Brown's size but who knows.

Looks like a very good get for ASU.

True, clips can be deceiving. I did not know he initally attended SIU, so how much eligibility does he have left?

4 RPG for a PG is curious. Wonder if that carries over to the next level.

FYI Dunson's team played Lazeric Jones' team today some guy on BRO saw the game and posted about it. Said Dunson was the best player on the court in the first half, Jones in the 2nd half. jones' team won.

Another guy on BRO said a Nuggets scout told him Dunson is one of the top 5 guard prospects in his class(including guys in college not just Jucos). Eric Bossi who works for Scout(Kansas guy) said that was very surprising to him he saw Dunson earlier in his career and said he has no right hand and very limited "ball skills", said he makes the spectacular play but he's not a PG and too small for a SG so he's stunned an NBA scout would be that high on him.

So 2 very different opinions.
