You guys have a helluva lacrosse team in your backyeard this year. ASU has beaten a couple of #1 ranked teams in the MCLA and is playing the hated (and in Arizona lacrosse circles, feared) UofA on Saturday the 14th.

Go see them. Cheer for them. Buy their stuff.

When I went to the UofA I used to go some of the Laxcats games because I knew a guy who played. The Cats coach at the time was Mickey-Miles Felton, who was there for a long time. He left but I read came back and is now an assistant.

The Laxcats have had really good teams in the past, including a club title. They have done very well against ASU in the past but it looks like the Devils are very good this year.

If you have not gone out and watch a lacrosse game before, I recommend you go to one, you'll be surprised how fast the game is.

By the way, the of the two times ASU has beaten UofA in the past 17 years, I was part of of one of them (in 1990). I dominated the face-off and scored a couple of goals.

I despise UofA lacrosse and everything it stands for.

But, despite the terrible, terrible track record vs. UofA, I suspect ASU will trounce them with this team.

I want you all to go and give me a full report. And, I want you to ask where the keg is after the game and give me a report on that, too.

14 years ago, we played on that field and the band field on rural and university. I don't know where they play now.

I played in 2000, had to give it up because of bad knees. It was really fun, but the team wasn't very good. We still played on the band field at that point. A win over U of A would be good, I did go on a road trip down in Tucson and it was a street fight.

I know that the team plays on the practice football field now, I haven't been able to watch a game yet. I may do so sometime soon.

It's growing at a tremendous clip out west, Denver is probably ahead of the western pack, but Phoenix is getting there.

My half-brother is 13 and he plays in a pretty extensive league up in your neck of the woods (he's in Samammish), too.

no kidding - i just went to laxpower to look at thier rankings and the national rankings

in the top 50 only Denver & Air Force really break from the traditional region - but it definitely would seem to show CO leading the way

I'm sure the NLL is contributing to this some - kids are getting interested in it

I grew up near Hobart and would watch games there - my HS didn't offer it unfortunately - I still remember my freshman year at Drexel when we beat Towson for the first time in almost forever - all their fans came up for the game and left very angry - lots of fun - drexel always had a mid-range team while I was there, but they are showing decent this year

Lacrosse is still largely a club sport out west at the collegiate level, so if you check the club ratings on laxpower you'll probably get a better indication.

AF and Denver are DI, though, and Denver has been pretty competitive almost from the start.

Sit on it, Potsy.

Looks like from the box score UA was in control the entire game and it wasn't even as close as the score indicates.

Did you go to the game?
