I personally think ASU will win this one. After watching Missouri, I don't think they have the speed or strength to match up with ASU. If our defense plays aggressive and downhill, Missouri will have a tough time running the ball, but I'm certainly concerned about the secondary issues, but luckily, the QB for Missouri isn't the most polished passer. Marshall will run for over 120+ yards, and Osweiler will throw 3 TD's. Defense will give up a couple big plays, but overall, play pretty consistent and make it tough for Missouri to score in the Red Zone.

I predict ASU to win 35-24.

What is your game day prediction?

I have zero read on this game. I don't think we'll know anything about these teams until after the game.

That's no fun :) Are you at least optimistic, or do you see ASU struggling? Just curious

ASU 147 - 0. I have an unreasonable hate for Missouri and it clouds my judgement but I think I'm pretty close on this one. I took my wife to her first college football game back in 77 and we sat through a 15 - 0 beatdown that still flashes through my head whenever someone mentions Missouri.

I think I'm optimistic, but I usually think I have a strong feel for the program. I've been mostly correct in projecting wins for the program until last year. I still know a few of the guys on the team, the coaches, but even they're rather cryptic about what they expect this year. I think there are so many 'ifs,' and even though common logic says they'll be decent this year, all those 'ifs' are starting to add up.

Missouri looked like a fringe Top 25 program to me against Miami OH, so if ASU beats them at home, I'll expect them to go to a bowl game. If not, I think bowl expectations should be heavily tempered. Too many critical injury losses to think this team will get a lot better from now until November. What they go into this game will be about as strong as the depth chart will be all season.

I watched the Missouri game and they did not look like a top-25 team whatsoever. Their qb Franklin can't throw and made some really dumb decisions. I can't see Missouri scoring more than 14 points against ASU's defense. I would think differently if they had a qb who could throw the ball and not depend on his legs. They do have some nice defensive players but overall, they are average at best. I say ASU wins 27-14.

I'd bet on ASU if I were betting money, what's the spread now?

Our QB is very new, our defense looked pretty good though, still fully expect to lose this game to ASU as our conference is engulfed in flames.

I signed up for tigerboard.com this summer thinking I could have some discussion with Tigers fans the week of the game. No such luck. Haven't seen nary a football post in 10 days. They are obsessed with realignment (aka NCAA deconstruction)

Unless Burfict does his typical routine and throws the game into a tailspin, I think this game is very winnable. Obviously, Vegas agrees as well...

It was like this last year too, our fans are suffering a long drawn out torture routine.

Normally they would be all over talking about this game as there wouldn't be much else to talk about, as of now they are completely absorbed.

It's a lot of energy to expend to watch OU and Texas hug and make up while changing essentially nothing.

At that point true fan meltdowns will probably occur.

It's another reason ASU has a great chance here, despite what's said I'd imagine it has at least a minor effect on the players.

ArizonaSports 620 just did an update and said there are 1,600 tix left. They followed that sentence with this one: "Blackout will be in full effect". I about had a heart attack until I realized they were talking about the fans in the stands and not the TV schedule.

Whew.

ASU by 10.

If Bray wasn't calling such a vanilla defense, Missouri would have no chance. ASU's defense is way too fast, but playing cover 2 against a running QB is moronic.

ASU 37
Mizz 30

I still feel I was right and that we were atleast 2 touchdowns better than Mizz. Horribly undiciplined game from the Devils tonight. Erickson needs to get control of the mental errors.

Regardless, good win Devils. Keep it up!
