They just replayed this game on Espn Classic.

What a heart-breaking loss that was. I am still pissed about it. :bang:

Heart breaking indeed.

Tell me if I am wrong about this (there is a good chance since I was only 13 or 14 when the game happened). I seem to recall on the last play Plummer through a long pass that was completed, the reciever caught it and tried to run and around and be sneaky and score a TD, but if he wouldve just fallen down where he made the catch, they wouldve been in FG range. Im probably just dreaming, but thats what I seem to recall

There was still time on the clock when he was down, ASU should have had a FG attempt. Refs blew the call, still bothers me to this day.

Ugh, I was sick in bed for ten days after this one. From a combo of liver damage and heartache. I got a ticket from a scalper for 60 bucks. Was the best game I ever saw until the damn prevent defense killed them at the end. Luckeye fans were brutal after the game in the parking lot.

The FG attempt would've been about 54 yards. Still, it would've been a shot.

I was there. I sat at the very end of the endzone section right across the aisle from the Ohio State section. Where I sat, there was a lot more trash talk coming from the ASU side. Unfortunately, we had two really drunk idiots who would scream crap about even a three yard gain. It got to be embarassing actually.

Man, so, so close to a National Title! :(

Again, my memory could be hazy, but I recall our kicker being a stud that year....I wish he wouldve had the shot.

He had the leg to kick it that far. But, it would have been pretty tough in that heavy, damp air.
